The award-winning digital series "The Bay" is going prime time: Amazon Prime, that is. The show, which has won multiple Emmys, is streaming on Amazon Prime. Fourteen digitally remastered episodes were released Friday on the service. These will be followed by 14 additional episodes, slated to be released sometime in fall 2016 (date TBD). In addition, for non-Amazon Prime members, the series is available for purchase for $9.99 per season or $1.99 per episode on Amazon Instant Video. The Bay will be free to Amazon Prime members in the USA, UK/Ireland, Germany, Austria and Japan.
Originally called "one of the top 10 shows worth watching" by TV Guide, "The Bay" follows the affluent yet dysfunctional Bay City residents living in a town cursed by Red Garrett, an ominous senator who was murdered by his socialite granddaughter, Sara Garrett. Now living in his shadow, Sara, her youngest son, Pete, and those around them face a series of dilemmas involving rape, blackmail, sordid lovers and vindictive archrivals. Their lives are riddled with forbidden love, malicious lies and never-ending scandals. The town's privileged tangle with those who confuse obsession for love, vengeance for justice, and power for success.
"We couldn't be more thrilled that Amazon Prime will now allow more lovers of serialized storytelling to find our show, as well as provide our viewers the opportunity to binge watch and discover never-before-seen footage," states series creator, director and writer Gregori J. Martin. "We are currently working on an all new season 3, which will be available on Amazon Prime and Amazon Instant Video in early 2017. None of this would be happening without our fans, who have been with us since the beginning, and we are most grateful."
"The Bay" also stars Ronn Moss (John Blackwell), Karrueche Tran (Vivian Johnson) and Mary Beth Evans (Sara on "The Bay" and Kayla "Days of Our Lives"). Evans has won two best actress Emmys: one for "Days" and one for "The Bay." Other "I know that face" stars from soaps include Tristan Rogers, Matt Ashford and Eric Martsloff.
Finally, next week on "The Young and the Restless," Jack learns wife Phyllis and brother Billy are lovers. Let the family torment and fireworks begin.
And: He is back. It took over 20 years, but Doug Llewellyn is back in "The People's Court " hallway. Returning to "The People's Court" is "the most shocking and pleasant surprise of (his) entire career." "Who would ever have thought I'd be back in that courtroom hallway again? And I can tell you this, the winners are still delighted, the losers are still mad and the audience, as well as most of us behind the scenes, are still amazed and even dumbfounded by the people we meet and the stories we hear in that legendary courtroom," Doug Llewellyn admitted on the show's website, adding that he loves Judge Milian.
Llewellyn has also brought back his signature catchphrase, "Don't take the law into your own hands — take 'em to court." He also has his signature blond coiffure, toothsome grin and slick manner. By the way, he has not been standing in the hallway all these years. He has been working in front of the camera and behind the camera for his own production company.
Not to worry. Doug is still the bailiff; Harvey is still talking to bystanders, and a Curt is the announcer.
