Happy Haiku Day, a celebration of the Japanese poetic form typically revolving around nature, the passing of seasons and ephemeral beauty. Though the syllabic pattern of "five-seven-five" is the way many westerners learn haiku, Japanese haikus often have entirely different guidelines. Today's new moon in the last blush of Aries season whisper to the poetic nature of your soul.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). You express the poetry of your soul through ignition. You bring the match, the first motion, the bold leap that wakes the sleeping world. Haiku: First spark in dry grass. A match laughing at the wind. Spring charges forward.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You express the poetry of your soul through devotion to the senses and the steady beauty of earthly pleasures. You make the moment feel rich and rooted. Haiku: Warm bread on the table. Slow roots drinking from deep earth. The day ripens sweet.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You express the poetry of your soul through curiosity and connection. Words, questions, laughter and ideas braid themselves through your life like wind through branches. Haiku: Two swallows weaving. Threads of gossip through the sky. Wind loves conversation.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). You express the poetry of your soul through care and emotional intuition. You sense what others feel and create warmth wherever you gather people. Haiku: Moon pulls silver tides. A quiet lantern in rain. Home glows in your chest.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You express the poetry of your soul through radiant presence. Your joy, courage and generosity invite the world to gather in the light you create. Haiku: Golden noon arrives. Sunlight wearing a crown. The world turns to look.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You express the poetry of your soul through thoughtful care and elegant precision. You notice what needs tending and quietly restore harmony. Haiku: Morning dew on wheat. A careful hand mends the seam. Order hums softly.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You express the poetry of your soul through balance and beauty. You feel the delicate mathematics of harmony in people, spaces and ideas. Haiku: Two leaves on still water. Even the breeze hesitates. Balance holds the light.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You express the poetry of your soul through depth and transformation. You move through mysteries others sense but cannot name. Haiku: Dark river moving. Secrets breathe beneath the ice. Stars shine under skin.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You express the poetry of your soul through adventure and possibility. Curiosity sends you toward new horizons again and again. Haiku: Bootprints past the hill. An arrow chasing sunrise. Maps laugh in the wind.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You express the poetry of your soul through perseverance and quiet ambition. You climb patiently toward the vision only you can see. Haiku: Stone stair after stair. Snow listens to patient feet. The summit waits still.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You express the poetry of your soul through imagination and brave originality. Your ideas crack open the sky of what people thought possible. Haiku: Lightning in clear air. A strange idea takes flight. Tomorrow wakes up.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You express the poetry of your soul through empathy. You can channel the experience of people, animals, nature, the wind itself. Haiku: Ocean dreaming deep. A thousand lantern fish drift. Sleep hums through the tide.
