DEAR STACY: Can you tell me what lovely actress Kathy Baker is up to lately? I haven't seen her since the "Jesse Stone" movies a couple of years ago. — Tammy M., Cedar Rapids, IA
DEAR TAMMY: Baker has a small role as Walt Disney's (Tom Hanks') right-hand gal, Tommie, in the Dec. 13 release "Saving Mr. Banks." She looks quite different with her early '60s hairdo in that film. Next spring, she'll be seen in A&E's "Those Who Kill" six-part crime dram that's based on a Danish series.
DEAR STACY: I read that Meredith Baxter plans to marry her girlfriend. That made me wonder how her former "family" sister, Kristy McNichol, is doing these days? — Angel B., Orem, UT
DEAR ANGEL: McNichol has stayed out of the public eye since coming out as a lesbian last year — a step she told People magazine she was making in order to show support for gay kids who are being bullied. Now 50, she said that she felt it was time to be "open about who I am." She also opened up about her happy 20-year relationship with partner Martie Allen. The two-time Emmy winner left show business in 1992 after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, returned to be part of the "Empty Nest" series finale in '95, and then stayed out for good. She went on to teach acting at a private L.A. school.
DEAR STACY: Are Sarah Jessica Parker and Mary-Louise Parker related? — Tiffany K., Warren, OH
DEAR TIFFANY: No relation.
DEAR STACY: While binge-watching "The Sopranos," I saw on the credits that Janice Soprano, Tony's sister, was played by Aida Turturro. Is that the sister of Nick and John Turturro? — James G., San Bernardino, CA
DEAR JAMES: Aida is a cousin of the famous brothers.
