DEAR STACY: What is the correct way to say Iwan Rheon's name? — Marcie A., Chattanooga, Tennessee
DEAR MARCIE: The 32-year-old Welsh actor, last seen being eaten by his own dogs as the dastardly Ramsey Bolton on "Game of Thrones," goes by the pronunciation OO-wan REE-on. He'll be back on TV Sept. 29 as Maximus in Marvel and ABC's "Inhumans" series.
DEAR STACY: I saw Robert Wagner on TV the other day. Whatever became of his daughter, Katie, who I used to see all the time? — JayMo287
DEAR JayMo287: TV hostess, Hollywood interviewer and broadcast personality Katie Wagner has been comparatively out of the spotlight in recent years, while busy with family. She and husband, Leif Lewis, have a son, Riley John Wagner-Lewis, who is now 10 years old. Her latest professional activity was an online radio show with psychic medium "Voxx," called "Inner View With Katie & Voxx." The Los Angeles Times reported recently that she put her 1948 ranch house in hip neighborhood Valley Village on the market for $1.2 million, so maybe she is looking to make a change.
DEAR STACY: Why do they always list nauseating-sounding side effects on drug commercials? — Matthew2535
DEAR MATTHEW2535: The Food and Drug Administration requires pharmaceutical companies to name all the side effects listed in the drug's prescribing information if the ad mentions both the brand name and what it's used for. They get a pass if the ad mentions only the brand name or only that there's a medication for a condition without naming the drug. Convoluted, yes? Annoying as they are to us, these ads are very popular in the TV industry, which they help support in a major way. According to Nielsen, there are, on average, 80 drug commercials every hour of every day on television. And one study showed that new drugs advertised directly to consumers are prescribed nine times more than their nonadvertised counterparts.
DEAR STACY: Did Elvis Presley ever act on a TV show? — Just Wondering, Providence, Rhode Island
DEAR JUST WONDERING: No. "The King" reserved his acting for the big screen.
