DEAR STACY: Please tell me what song is used in the Kia commercial with the "sign and drive" message. I really like it. — Shay M., Sana Ana, Calif.
DEAR SHAY: That's Brinnon Tides' "Little Animals."
DEAR STACY: Please help a group of card-playing friends attempting to remember a Hollywood incident. We know that Bruce Lee's son, Brandon Lee, died in a mix-up between a real bullet and a blank fired from a gun on the set of "The Crow." But wasn't there another actor who was killed in similar fashion near the same time? — F.P., Warren, Ohio
DEAR F.P.: You may be thinking of rising young actor Jon-Erik Hexum, who was messing around with a prop .44 Magnum that had blanks in it while making the CBS series "Cover Up" in 1984 (Lee died in '93). Unaware, so the story goes, that even a blank can inflict terrible damage at close range, he put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger. Despite the best efforts of the crew to get him to a hospital, he went into a coma from which he never recovered.
DEAR STACY: I used to enjoy watching Charles Nelson Reilly on "The Match Game." Can you tell me, is he still with us? — Leigh B., South Windsor, Conn.
DEAR LEIGH: No, the former TV and Broadway favorite passed away in 2007, at the age of 76, of pneumonia after a long battle with respiratory illness. He was survived by his partner of 27 years, set decorator Patrick Hughes III. The actor and coach, who seemed perpetually busy during his long career, had great success with his final project, his autobiographical one-man show, "Save It for the Stage: The Life of Reilly." It was turned into a film that debuted at the South By Southwest Film Festival of 2006, but Reilly was too ill to attend the opening.
DEAR STACY: Is Jennifer Garner related to James Garner? — Pam R., Springfield, Ill.
DEAR PAM: The answer is no, although Jennifer has admitted that she allowed some high school band mates to think her "Uncle Jimmy" was the beloved veteran star.
