DEAR STACY: I can't wait for Ryan Murphy's movie about the feud between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, with Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon starring. When is it expected? Any other news about cast and such? — Margie_W

DEAR MARGIE_W: The eight-episode "Feud" miniseries (part of a planned anthology ala "American Horror Story") is due sometime in 2017 on FX — sorry, nothing more specific as of yet. It will also star Stanley Tucci as studio chieftain Jack Warner, Judy Davis as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper, and Alfred Molina as director Robert Aldrich, who helmed the notorious "hagsploitation" film on which Crawford and Davis sparred, "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?"

DEAR STACY: Why is it that "American Idol" launched so many big recording stars and "The Voice" hasn't launched any? — Amy G., Boise, Idaho

DEAR AMY: NBC and "The Voice" lavish their attention and support on the show's super-star judges — who are the reason people tune in, after all — rather than the contestants. "Idol" was structured for starmaking, with unknowns being "discovered" on TV — beginning in an era before stars began being made on You Tube — and the winners were more extensively marketed. There have been successes among "The Voice" winners, including Josh Kaufman, who headlined a Broadway revival of "Pippin." But no household names along the lines of Kelly Clarkson or Jennifer Hudson.

DEAR STACY: I'm dying to know who is the singer doing "You Know How I Feel" in the Volvo commercials? Her voice gives me goosebumps. — Val88

DEAR VAL88: That's Nina Simone's rendition of the Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse song, "Feeling Good" — remixed by Swedish producer Avicii.

DEAR STACY: I'd like to know whether it's true Joaquin Phoenix is going to play Jesus Christ in a film about Mary Magdalene, as a friend told me. Details please. — JannTomGen

DEAR JANNTOMGEN: As of this writing, the deal has not been finalized, but Phoenix has reportedly been in talks to take on that Biblical role in Garth ("The King's Speech") Davis' "Mary Magdalene," opposite Rooney Mara.
