DEAR STACY: I love the "California Gold" song on the Dodge Ram commercials. Who sings it? Is it available to buy? — Junetta E., Redondo Beach, Calif.

DEAR JUNETTA: That's Marlena Shaw singing "California Soul," which was written Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson back in 1967. The Fifth Dimension had a hit with it, and Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell covered it as well. Shaw included it in her 1969 "The Spice of Life" album. You can get it as an MP3.

DEAR STACY: What has become of plans to make a sequel to "Independence Day"? A friend says it's happening but without Will Smith. — Nick W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa

DEAR NICK: Your friend is right. But even with Smith apparently turning down reprising his role, Fox has targeted July 1, 2016 as the release date for "Independence Day 2." According to Mike Fleming of Deadline Hollywood, there were two "ID2" scripts in the works for years — one with Smith at the center of the action and one without him.

DEAR STACY: Any word on when Enya will come out with a new album? It's been years since her last one. — Sandi L., Huntington, W.Va.

DEAR SANDI: Sorry, my crystal ball is cloudy. There have been rumors about a new album from the mysterious Irish singer for years. A recent report out of Dublin had her laying tracks for a back-to-roots style album and a 2015 tour. But that's unsubstantiated.

DEAR STACY: First there was supped to be a "24" feature film. Then that didn't work out. Then there was going to be a "24" miniseries. What's going on? — P.S., Chattanooga, Tenn.

DEAR P.S.: What's going on is the 12-episode "24: Live Another Day" limited series beginning May 5! Kiefer Sutherland has described it as very different from the series fans know so well. He has not, by the way, given up on the idea of a big screen "24." We'll see.
