DEAR STACY: Why hasn't Jay Leno ever hosted the Oscars? — Jim B., Cedar Rapids, Iowa
DEAR JIM: In the past, Leno made it clear that he thought it would be impossible to take the time to prep for Academy Awards hosting duties and keep up his "Tonight Show" chores at the same time. Perhaps we should not rule him out for the future. This year, of course, we have the very funny and popular Ellen DeGeneres returning for her second round as host.
DEAR STACY: Is Krysten Ritter any relation to the late John Ritter? I was sorry that "Don't Trust the B — In Apartment 23" was canceled. What is she up to next? — Steven T., Ft. Worth, Texas
DEAR STEVEN: The beautiful "Breaking Bad" and "Don't Trust the B——" actress is not related to late, beloved funnyman John Ritter. She's joining another very funny fellow, Will Ferrell, in his forthcoming 1960s astronaut comedy, "Mission Control," on NBC. She will play the head engineer and also be credited as a producer. David Hornsby of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" serves as writer and exec producer.
DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to Jeffrey Hunter, who portrayed Jesus in "King of Kings"? He either must have died young or retired early, because he seemed to disappear. — Jana W., Warren, Ohio
DEAR JANA: Hunter, who also played John Wayne's sidekick in "The Searchers," and the original captain of the USS Enterprise, Christopher Pike, on "Star Trek," died as the result of a fall at age 42 in 1969.
DEAR STACY: Are there any plans to bring back "The Hollywood Squares"? — Just Curious, New Port Richey, Fla.
DEAR JUST: No such plans have been announced. The last incarnation of the popular celebrity comedy game show concluded its run in 2004. The best bet for laughs watching celebrities goofing around playing games together nowadays is NBC's "Hollywood Game Night," a guaranteed good time.
