DEAR STACY: What is Patricia Arquette doing? I enjoyed her show "Medium." — Maddie A., Cedar Rapids, Iowa
DEAR MADDIE: Arquette joined the cast of HBO's Steve Buscemi vehicle "Boardwalk Empire" last year, playing tough speakeasy boss Sally Wheet. She stars with Ethan Hawke in Richard Linklater's "Boyhood" film that recently debuted at the Sundance Festival. The movie has to do with the growing up of a boy (Ellar Coltrane) over 12 years and was shot intermittently over a real-life 12-year period. She also remains highly active in charity, especially the shelter land improvement work for Haiti that she began following the devastating earthquake there in 2010.
DEAR STACY: Can you tell me whether Katy Perry and Josh Groban were ever an item — or is my friend delusional? — Kayla M., Minneapolis, Minn.
DEAR KAYLA: Around five years ago the two were being seen together a lot, but they've been very coy about whether romance was involved. She said of the relationship, "We're buddies." Pressed by Details magazine, he said last year, "We might have skated on the line of dating." He also said they got along well "because we're both goofballs." It would be fun to hear them sing together.
DEAR STACY: What is Kathryn Morris of "Cold Case" up to lately? Haven't seen her in a while. — Jessica M., New Port Richey, Fla.
DEAR JESSICA: Morris has been focusing on motherhood. She announced last April that she and boyfriend Johnny Messner were expecting — and she gave birth to twin sons Jameson and Rocco in August.
DEAR STACY: What is the classical music playing in the movie "Witness" when they are building the barn? — George D., Tacoma, Wash.
DEAR GEORGE: That music was written by the late Oscar-winning ("Lawrence of Arabia," "Doctor Zhivago," "A Passage to India") French composer Maurice Jarre as part of his original score for the film.
