Two retrogrades and other cosmic complexities welcome introspection and remind us how very different we are from one another, each with a particular set of curiosities and attractions. It's a week to heed the mysterious magnetic pull of your calling, even if it beckons only to you and points to a destination with no obvious reasons or features. That's the way it is in the universe. Seemingly empty things tend to contain all there is.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Joan of Arc didn't leave home without her armor. The mafia and the police squad both go to the scene of the crime in bulletproof vests. Your battleground this week is one of the heart. Emotions are high, and you're going to want to protect yourself. Armor up. Make some rules and boundaries. Get a strategy in place.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Aah, the games of love. You ignore him; he ignores you back. Whoever ignores more completely gets the prize. Insert your preferred gender; the rules are the same. Doing the opposite of what comes naturally creates immediate interest. You can use this principle in other parts of life this week, too.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). No one has figured out yet how to make the most of a tsunami. Some forces of nature can't be controlled. But this week's natural forces are 100 percent able to be harnessed. Start building your emotional windmill. Assemble your spiritual water turbine. You can and will make all that flows through your life work in your favor.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). You're still doing it for them. You should be doing it for you — if only because doing it for "them" will lead to big-time burnout. Get back to what you want, what you enjoy. If someone else happens to delight in it and benefit from it, well, that's just dumb luck. You're due for some!

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). In the game you're playing this week, knowledge is power and power is survival. Learn all you can about the opposition, the environment and every other factor involved. Note that asking a lot of questions isn't always (or even usually) the best way to find things out. Close your mouth; open your ears and eyes.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). If you're cool, you play it cool. Hardly anyone is cool, though, really. "Cool" is either hard won with years of work and practice or it's an extremely rare birthright. If you find yourself feeling very uncool this week, just know that you're not alone. They probably all feel that way. And then play it cool anyway.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). This week you're the master of your vibes. You put out the joyful energy and bask in it when it boomerangs. Other vibes like insecurity, jealousy, anger — those zing back, too. When you don't like what you're getting, it will only take you a moment to change your inner channel and send something more delicious out.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). When you know you haven't given anything to a situation, you wouldn't dream of asking for anything from it. However, this week will bring a unique set of circumstances in which you'll benefit from an outside source. Don't resist. This is just your good karma coming back in a zany way. Karma is balanced, not logical.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You're so good at staying in the moment, moving with your spontaneous impulses and responding to the energy of those around you, especially the ones you feel great affection toward. Note: Love is not a one-size-fits-all proposition. Each person in your life will inspire you to find a new way to love.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). This week brings a surge of desire. It could be for an object, a position or another person. At some point it will be helpful to step back and ask: Is this wanting about love? Infatuation? Vanity? You won't get the answer immediately, but once you do you'll know how much to risk or trade in exchange.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Expect emotional sunshine and intellectual illumination. In the light you can see what to do, where to go, where there is to go. There will be darker hours, too, which is positive even when it doesn't feel that way completely. Only in the cover of spiritual night can you see how bright your star really shines.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). There's a celebration going on near you and however much you want to join the whirling, swirling, stomping elation of it, something is holding you back. Maybe you're not 100 percent convinced that you fit into this scene. It's not a fixed picture. Get in there and see what you can do. You'll be part of the creation.

THIS WEEK'S BIRTHDAYS: Handle mundane business over the next six weeks and a bold opportunity will show up that seems perfect for your skill set. April adds layers of complexity to relationships. What's not so clear in the windshield will be quite clearly seen in the review mirror, so keep going. You need this knowledge and will go on to use it quite well. The project you've been working on for over a year will finally come together in June. This won't be the end; rather it will open up several other ventures.
