Creators Publishing's release, “Bocas,” is a comedic thriller set in a small beach town not unlike its home base of Hermosa Beach. Founded in 2012 to give unique literary voices a world-wide platform, Creators Publishing is a branch of the syndication company Creators founded in 1987 by Rick Newcombe.
Read MoreCreators columnist Thomas Sowell was recently interviewed by the Wall Street Journal.
These days, the pressure of digital media and the growth of mobile have created challenges for syndicates to remain relevant and keep up with the demand from media companies as they adapt to a changing environment.
The decision to drop the Republican presidential hopeful follows his column, published by conservative outlets like The Washington Times and National Review, in which he discussed how a “doctor’s fact-based expertise could augment a president’s leadership abilities.”
What caused the massive shift in the syndication business? The changing needs of newspapers and media companies in the digital era where space is tight, budgets are tighter and time isn’t the luxury it once was. Once content to simply shop for comics, puzzles and columnists, newspapers now need a vast array of content as they retrench to focus on local interests. Plus, a shrinking printed news hole has pivoted to largely expanding digital operations in desperate need of content.
Creators Syndicate is proud to announce that the newest addition to newspapers' comics pages is "Recess," a hilarious panel by Andy Anderson and Wil Panganiban.
