Jenny McCarthy has enjoyed success as a comedian, actress, host, best-selling author and spokeswoman.
A New York Times best-selling author, McCarthy's books include “Belly Laughs, Baby Laughs, Life Laughs,” “Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism” and “Mother Warriors: A Nation of Parents Healing Autism Against All Odds, Healing and Preventing Autism,” co-written with Dr. Jerry Kartzinel. Her latest books, “Love, Lust and Faking It: The Naked Truth About Sex, Lies, and True Romance” and “Bad Habits: Confessions of a Recovering Catholic” also hit the best-seller lists.
McCarthy and Sarah Clifford Scheflen, a practicing speech language pathologist, created Teach2Talk, a series of 16 DVDs for children. Created using the latest research available, Teach2Talk subjects range from improving vocabulary skills to dealing with negative behaviors and temper tantrums, entertaining children while teaching them language, behavior and social skills. She also launched a line of affordable, nontoxic bedding and bedroom accessories called “Too Good by Jenny,” available online and in stores nationwide.
This year, McCarthy brought her over-the-top comedic sensibilities to VH1 with her late-night talk show, "The Jenny McCarthy Show." She writes a blog and advice column, "Ask Jenny," for her hometown paper, the Chicago Sun-Times, answering reader questions about love, sex, single parenting and fitness.
Jenny currently resides outside of Chicago with her son, Evan. On Sept. 9, 2013, she officially joined ABC's Emmy Award-winning daytime talk show "The View" as a co-host.
