Saturn's Last Day in Scorpio

Currently, the shroud of fog is a most pleasant diffusion of light. Later, you'll just want the sun. Saturn in Scorpio is observing below the surface, examining the undercurrents, checking the inner workings. Tomorrow the planetary taskmaster slips into Sagittarius. Today you will savor the mystery. Tomorrow you'll just want to ask and know.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). If you're not sure what you want to say, now is the time to think it through. Your message will come through loud and clear, so make sure it's the one you want to broadcast.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You provide for basic human needs — for instance, the basic need to be listened to. Eye contact, human touch, a feeling of belonging — in giving these things, you'll be a hero.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). It's very possible that you've surrounded yourself with narcissists. Therefore, don't expect them to see what you've done. Don't wait for them to notice your accomplishments, big or small. Privately acknowledge and praise yourself.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). The habits you've kicked once or twice will require your attention again. Maybe there's a better way. For instance, what would happen if you just turned and ran?

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You find it very easy to be patient when you're reasonably sure you'll get your way in the end. However, when you're unsure about the outcome, it is very difficult to wait around.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). "Perfect" isn't. When a thing is refined to the highest degree, the next stage is that it's spoiled. Therefore, do not aim for perfection. Do your best, and let it be.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). It will be a day of reversals. Men will act like little children, and little children will act like men. You can't predict the outcome, but you can choose the journey.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Because of the strains of your profession and/or the criticism to which you are so often exposed, it will be important to actively seek to reduce your stress. You deserve some comfort.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Your creativity is a precious gift. It comes so easily to you that you don't realize what's needed to keep it going strong. A stable home life is important to the balance.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). In movies, relationships often start with fights. In real life, people who don't get along at first seldom get along later.

You'll appreciate the early stages of a relationship, for better or worse.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You're sure of yourself and won't be inclined to discuss your position or direction. When you don't expect anything, you will be able to recognize and welcome what comes, which isn't bad at all!

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). They will try to control you, but don't let them. Though you are an integral part of a team, you are also free to act as an individual, beholden to no one but yourself.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Dec. 22). You are intrigued by the kind of danger that doesn't risk your safety or health, just your emotions and ego. A daring leap into the unknown pays off in January. February brings the happy close of a process. Choose your team and go forward in March — your success will depend on how closely you follow your instincts. Aries and Pisces people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 40, 1, 11, 24 and 11.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: This is going to sound horrible, but here it goes. I'm a working person with a family, and I get 10 days of vacation time a year. My wife and I live 3,000 miles from family. We spend our vacations spreading ourselves among relatives with back-to-back visits. It is exhausting. But if we don't do it, my children will never know their grandparents and cousins. By the end of these trips, I usually feel like my vacation was trying to kill me. How can I get some time to myself to actually relax? — Selfish Aquarius.

As a basically social person, Aquarius is usually rejuvenated by connecting with family, though it sounds like the intensity and pacing of your efforts is working against you. You don't have to do it the same way every year. Consider planning a family reunion for four days and inviting everyone to attend, and then spending the rest of your vacation days on yourself. It certainly isn't selfish to want a break — a real break — where you go somewhere pretty and do practically nothing. Relaxation is a necessary part of the work cycle, and time off will ultimately improve your overall performance.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: She wrote for Rascal Flatts and Sabrina Carpenter before breaking out with her own hit single, "All About That Bass." Meghan Trainor is an ambitious Capricorn born on the cusp. Her sun, Mars, Uranus and Neptune are all in Capricorn. Her Mercury and Venus are both in Sagittarius. This is a blend of optimism, luck and excitement mixed with a serious work ethic.
