Skies of Moral Dilemma
The sun and Saturn tug at each other from across the sky, promising to bring moral dilemmas and other kinds of intellectual strife. Chances are, you know the right way; it just doesn't happen to also be the convenient way. The choices we make, even if no one sees us make them, will define our character.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). The day will require you to be vigilant and aware. People who do not stop a wrong from happening are almost as wrong as those who perpetrate the crimes.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You appreciate beauty. Sometimes it's obvious, but often it's not. There are seemingly disorderly aspects of true beauty. Direct attention to things they wouldn't have noticed if it weren't for your keen eye.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). "The issue" returns to mind — you're having a hard time letting this one go. Maybe it's time to drop everything and actively involve yourself in finding a solution.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). Artists inspire you, and there's something in the essence of one of your idols that will carry over into your own work today. In the end, call it an homage.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). When you love someone, that person has the power to freeze and stretch the moment for you — and also to snap and shrink it so you wish that you had much, much more time.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Avoid distractions and block out the things that could potentially obstruct your productivity. Tonight, the one who seems to have it all together could use more help than you might have guessed.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). The thing that frustrates you could be the same thing that liberates you — look at it in another light. Tonight, take back the power and reclaim your schedule.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). That someone who makes you breathe harder than usual just at the sight of them? That's someone who will make you realize who you are and who you want to be and help you bridge the gap between the two.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You'll receive something different from what you gave. The two things are of equal value. This may not be readily apparent, but time will reveal the balance.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). If you're wondering why you keep making people laugh, it's because you say things that are true.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Everyone has an opinion; few have solutions. Look hard and you'll find the good in an idea. It's easy not to, though, which is why you'll hear so many complaints from the peanut gallery today.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You need privacy and long stretches of silent time to do your work. Stake your claim on a room with a door that closes out the rest of the world, even if that room happens to be a closet.
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (May 23). A daydream will help you glimpse your fabulous future. Try to replay it over and over — you were meant for this. June is for organizing your world so you can move forward. Family steps in and lays down laws in August. October is the best time for changing jobs, transferring responsibility or moving. Pisces and Virgo people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 3, 15, 33, 18 and 40.
ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "Is it true that the sign of Sagittarius is represented by the tarot card called Temperance? That seems counterintuitive to me."
Temperance is about moderation and finding balance between two extremes. Sagittarius likes to indulge in excess. Temperance is the card of alchemy. The Holy Grail for medieval alchemists was a magical substance called the prima materia, which could provide unlimited wealth, eternal youth and ultimate knowledge — traits that are often associated with Jupiter, the good-luck planet. Indeed, Sagittarius is often seen in astrology as being a cure for whatever ails you, whether that be low income, poor health, a lackluster career, a boring social life... The Archer can fix pretty much anything. But, as you said, there is another side to Sagittarius that doesn't know when to say when, and in this case, he resembles the reversed (upside down) Temperance card: too much of a good thing. Like King Midas, who accidentally turned his daughter into a statue of gold, in matters of success, it is far too easy to get carried away with one's own importance.
CELEBRITY PROFILES: Gemini folk/pop star Jewel has starred in the movie "Ring of Fire" as June Carter Cash, a role that has been played by Reese Witherspoon, as well. Jewel and June Carter Cash were both born when Mercury was in Gemini, favoring a witty and lighthearted manner of expression. This colorful Alaskan native has reportedly signed with a publishing house to produce a memoir.
