Halloween Lunar Levity

Because this year's goblins, ghosts and ghouls are ruled by the Aquarian moon, they are sure to be friendly and creative. The night will be heavier on the bright ideas and giggles than it will be on frights. The social opportunities are rich. Meeting one another in the context of costume will bring about unexpected interactions.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). You'll approach social life with the glee of a child setting out to trick-or-treat. Halloween alter ego: Ruled by Mars, the warrior planet, you are a natural-born Guardian of the Galaxy.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You'll dress up and work the room, collecting the loot in the form of opportunities, contacts and goodies untold! Halloween alter ego: The sign of the bull should go as a horned creature like the devil or Maleficent.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Your generosity raises the bar for all. Halloween alter ego: Your sunny "everything is awesome" outlook goes perfectly with the characters from "The Lego Movie."

CANCER (June 22-July 22). You're on an emotional high, and everyone around you gets a contact high from you. Halloween alter ego: In keeping with your water-sign nature, you could cool it down as a character from Disney's "Frozen."

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Build some quiet moments into the controlled chaos of the day. Halloween alter ego: Like the lion, you are a hunter. Go as one, as in a character from "The Hunger Games" or the Huntsman from "Snow White and the Huntsman."

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You'll be in an inquisitive and mischievous mood. Halloween alter ego: Your Mercury-ruled technical acuity makes you the perfect one to honor technology such as Google Glass or the iPhone 6 with your costume.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Don't waste time on decisions — flip a coin. Halloween alter ego: You will be a smash hit when you draw from the world of politics: Obama in a tan suit, Gov. Chris Christie or a pregnant Chelsea Clinton.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You are in your prime. Live it up. Halloween alter ego: As the sign of transformation, a character who changes form, perhaps from the film "Transformers" or a werewolf, vampire or the like, would be perfect.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Before you can share the glory, you have to let others share in the duties. Halloween alter ego: Characters from the epic fantasy "Game of Thrones" capture your otherworldly spirit of adventure.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Because you're intrinsically responsible, you'll have to push yourself to say "no." Halloween alter ego: Honor your winter birthday by playing a character from "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

20-Feb. 18). People are full of ideas and advice for you, though you'll be very happy to defer to your original plans. Halloween alter ego: As the sign of the future, a character from a futuristic movie like "Divergent" would be cool.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You have an obvious connection with an intriguing someone, and you both feel it. Halloween alter ego: If you want to keep it simple, honor your water-sign element with a bucket on your head: the Ice Bucket Challenge.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Oct. 31). Family ties strengthen this year, and you'll quickly advance collective interests. Personal exploration over the next six weeks will teach you exactly where to put your energy. At the start of 2015, you'll turn the uncool into fashion, the unexpressed into declaration. Love fills your hours in April and beyond. Cancer and Sagittarius people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 4, 17, 50, 31 and 25.

WEEKEND LOVE FORECAST: ARIES: You'll seek amusement and stumble into love. TAURUS: Your love life offers more variety and excitement than in recent times. GEMINI: The one who asks favors of you is crushing on you. CANCER: Infatuation produces a feeling of falling — not plummeting, but a soft, floating descent. LEO: You're missing someone, but you try to distract yourself with the other interests and people you love. VIRGO: Your attention has healing properties that a loved one needs. LIBRA: Know the boundaries in your own mind, and it's likely that you won't even have to voice them — people will sense the limits. SCORPIO: You haven't always been so confident, which is why you have profound empathy for that awkward, shy person you know. SAGITTARIUS: Put down your phone, and you'll figure out that someone is flirting with you in person. CAPRICORN: Teach the games you like to play to a loved one. AQUARIUS: You know who is right for you. It's as though the answer has been in your heart since before the world was made. PISCES: You don't have to spell out who you are and what you want. Give half the story. Someone is attracted to your mysterious complexity.

COUPLE OF THE WEEKEND: Scorpio and Pisces are naturally compatible, and while the sun is in Scorpio and the moon is in Pisces, the magnetism between these signs is even more pronounced. Never was there a more psychic connection. When they devote focused attention to each other, words are practically unnecessary. Music and dancing are highly recommended.
