The next committee hearing concerning what happened during the Jan. 6 riot is slated for Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. It may cut into your soaps if it lasts longer. Sen. Jamie Raskin — next to Tony Fauci, I love him best. This should be the last meeting. The last meeting was as riveting as the soaps. Get out the popcorn.
Mishael Morgan (Amanda on "The Young and the Restless") wants her fans to know it was her choice not to go on contract, but she will be recurring. "I was asked to sign a contract. I did not want to do that and opted for recurring. So, you will see me. I have several other projects. I am so lucky to work with the show's on- and off-screen crew," she said. In March, the actress suffered a horrific loss. Her brother and sister-in-law and their three children, who lived in Canada, died in a house fire. Morgan said it was a crushing blow. The costs for funeral services were immense, A GoFundMe page was started to help cover the costs.
Emma Samms' (Holly on "General Hospital") on-air return date is Oct. 18. While in her native England, Samms contracted COVID three times. "They were so lovely; they waited until I was physically ready, which I am," she said. Speaking of lovely, Samms is the poster child. She was always anti-drug at the time "GH" was awash in people dealing with drug and alcohol issues. Samms was not interested. She never lectured; she just said no. She started the Starlight Children's Foundation, which is akin to Make-A-Wish. She did it to honor her brother, who succumbed to cancer when he was very young.
Jeff Korber, who won an Emmy for his portrayal of Cyrus on "GH," is back on the show. I hope this means Michael E. Knight, who plays his brother Martin, returns. Martin is Laura's stepbrother, a bend-the rules-lawyer and is Valentin's best friend. Speaking of Valentin, the love scenes between Valentin and Anna were hot, hot, hot. More, please. It appears we will be seeing more of Roger Howarth — such a good actor. When he played Todd on "One Life to Live," he was mesmerizing. The character's best friend was a talking parrot. It was like Iago trying to get Todd to be a good guy. Lots of luck on that. Howarth was happy when Todd, a rapist, was given a scarlet letter. The scar encircled his face. When they took away the scar, Howarth was not pleased at the time. "He was a rapist. He should have had that scar forever," he said.
