It is a big week for Mishael Morgan, on "The Young and the Restless," who is about to be ex-Hilary on the show after a five-year run. She announced this week that she and her husband are expecting their second child. It is a girl. During her first pregnancy, the actress admitted that she gained a lot of weight. By the time she returned, she had her picture-perfect body. While some suggest the pregnancy is why she decided to exit Y&R, others think it was all about the money.

This is also the week that Eileen Davidson (Ashley) says goodbye to her on and off home of 30 years. It appears Ashley is leaving Genoa City for business reasons. No word on if the role will be re-cast. The other times Davidson took some breaks, other actresses stepped in. One replacement was found waiting tables in LA — that is what so many performers do between gigs. One time, I was eating at the Ivy when a server proudly said, "I am not an actor I am a server. I am not waiting for my big break. This is my big break."

One actor now toiling on a soap who does not want his name revealed spent years waiting tables. "I kept it fresh by taking on different personas. One day I was French, another day English. I took it like a master class in acting."

In good news, when Brandon Beemer (Shawn) and Martha Madison (Belle) return to "Days of Our Lives," it will not be for just a nanosecond. This time, the story arc will run for several months. Why is this couple not on a permanent contract? Beemer must be the best-looking guy on daytime and he can act. Ditto for Madison. The characters are connected to the royal families of Salem. She is connected to John. He is Hope and Bo's son. Together they were one of show's hottest couples. They went from teenage angst to responsible adults.

Vinessa Antoine (Jordan) has landed a tv series in Canada. At first, she thought she could tackle both jobs, but when they show saw her schedule for her other project, they decided she would have to spend too much time away from the soap set. The character will be re-cast.

With so many characters on "General Hospital," it seems as if legacy characters get little airtime. With Clair Lanier's (Nelle) time at GH ending, that will free up a lot of airtime. Can they please give Jason (Steve Burton) a real storyline? What happened for the five years he was gone and does not remember? I know he is busy running errands for Sonny and Carly, but can he please have his own life? When are they going to get the long-awaited love scene? It was nice to see a scene between Jason and his son Jake. Burton has always done great work with kids. One of the best outtakes on America's funniest home videos was when the toddler playing Michael would not cooperate. An exasperated Burton announced, "I am getting vasectomy tonight." Thank heavens that did not happen. He and his wife Sherree have three children.

Jordy Valususo, last seen on "Days of Our Lives" as Dario, is back to daytime. He is headed to "The Young and the Restless" with a contract to play Rey. He won a daytime emmy for playing Tony on Guiding Light and has also been on "All My Children" A good guy and great actor his return is welcome. It puts to rest the rumor that he was headed as a re-cast for Dante on General Hopsital.
