LYNDA HIRSCH ON SOAPS -- GOSSIP

Ya gotta love Robin Strasser (formerly Dorian on "One Life to Live"). She says what she thinks, and she hardly ever thinks about what she is saying.

It's a trait that is delightful during an interview, but not so enduring to network heads or PR folks.

Twitter was made for Strasser. There is one problem: There is no way Strasser has ever said anything in 140 characters. One year, she sent me a seven-hour video about her menopause. I admit I did not watch it. I do not want to spend seven minutes on my own menopause.

Strasser is displeased that Laura Wright (Carly on "General Hospital) went on "The Chew." Wright was promoting her wine business Standing Sun and shared an exchange with co-host Mario Batali in which they addressed the show's relationship with daytime fans. Strasser responded by tweeting, "Laura Wright is WRONG praising the Chew, confusing protecting her own job with love/fun/or that bad food. 800 jobs lost when OLTL canceled."

The actress added: "My Toxic tweet now out there, I'll add that I think Laura Wright is talented, beautiful, and strong. Nobody's perfect-#Chew is the proof. Dealing with LOSS is a talent, a grace I've learned I do NOT possess. A bit of bitter, a bite back at toothless toadies makes me feel better. RESPECT for the DAYTIME AUDIENCES and their enthusiastic loyal support of SOAPS should be part of JOB DESCRIPTION for working at any network."

One of my favorite Strasser moments happened at one of ABC's Super Soap weekends. The brilliant actress was certain the network was sabotaging her. Her argument: They gave her smaller chair to sit on during interviews than Susan Lucci was given.

Kassie DePaiva (Blair on "One Life to Live" and "General Hospital") returns to "GH" this summer. No word on how long a stay she'll have. The character will mix it up with Tea, Carly and Todd.

For over two decades, James Stenbeck (the late Anthony Herrera) taunted the citizens who lived in "As the World Turns'" Oakdale.

There was more than just a storyline that kept the character returning. Herrera, who died last year, had a rare blood disease. He underwent two stem cell transplants. The transplants extended his life by years.

The suave actor would not have been able to receive these transplants if he did not have health insurance provided by the actors union. The "ATWT" brass made certain he returned so he would not lose his health insurance. If you want to relive some the Stenbeck's Snidely Whiplash character, head over to SoapClassics.com

If you loving seeing Ian Buchanan (Ian) on "Days of our Lives," you have about three more months to watch him. Buchanan is the latest "Days" actor caught in the bloodbath. The characters of Jack, Carrie and Austin are also being written out.

Molly Burnett, who plays Melanie, is also leaving. This exit appears to have been mutual.

Here we go again. Is Stefano really going to die on "Days"? The character has risen from the ashes about 10 times. That is why they call him the Phoenix. For the answer to this, watch "Days" for the next few weeks.
