PRIME TIME

Dog gone it, this season's "The Bachelor" seems to be going to the dogs. When Kelly Travis arrived, she brought along her best friend, Molly. She may be sorry. Everyone on the show and in the audience loves Molly. Travis knows how to keep Molly away from her man; just take her for a walk. Molly is her dog.

Travis says that entering with Molly was not thrust upon her by the producers. "I was nervous about leaving Molly for what could be nine weeks. One of the producers asked if I wanted to bring her with me. Of course I did."

Travis admits for the first few days there was a little uneasiness about Molly. "I think some of the girls who also had pets might have been a little jealous because they did not bring along their pet. One or two of the girls had not spent a lot of time around dogs. By the third day, everyone in the house loved Molly."

Travis, an executive with a construction company says her friends told her that her tag as dog lover instead of what she did for a living made it look as if she were unemployed. "I thought it was funny. Humor is a big part of my personality."

It did not always work with "Bachelor" prize Juan Pablo. Even before he made news with his negative comments about gays and then claimed it is because English is his second language, she experienced his language limits. "I would say something to him that was meant to be funny, and he would not laugh. Then he would ask 'was that a joke?' I would say 'yes' and then explain it to him. Kind of kills a joke."

As for life in the mansion, it was an adjustment. "I have never had a female roommate. I came off a three-year relationship. Moving in with a large group of women made me leery. Just the logistics like sharing a bathroom. I was also concerned about drama in the group."

Travis is not one to hold back when it comes to other contestants. Speaking of drama, Travis offers insight to Victoria's on-air meltdown. "Several of us were in the limo. There was drinking. Victoria was drunk. She was saying all these outrageous things. Totally out of control. Most of us gave each other "this isn't good" looks. I was not surprised by her actions when we got back to the mansion."

On episode three, Travis suggested that fellow contest Kat was acting like a whore when she allowed Juan Pablo to keep her in an unladylike position.

"Kat is trying too hard. Juan Pablo's head was in her crotch for 20 minutes."

Travis says she has made life-long friendships with two of her roommates. Lucy is not one of them.

Lucy was the one who liked to walk around au natural. "I don't think she was serious about the show. She was also a bit immature."

As for who will get the final rose, she says, "Whatever decision Juan Pablo makes, it will be fair. He made sure he spent equal time with all of us."
