Retrograde Testing

The current retrogrades have us questioning relationships anew. People and arrangements need to bring us some of their own energy. For instance, if a habit, commitment or group dissolves the moment you stop organizing, it was never worthy of your effort. A good way to test is by stepping back to see what endures on its own strength.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Today you'll see the moral pattern underneath everything. You'll witness the give and take and understand the specifics of what's being exchanged and the true values of it. You'll live your philosophy and be an example of your own ethical insights.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Complaints are just unprocessed truths in disguise. Having a safe place to vent them is as important as any venting a potentially toxic chemical. Whether it's in a journal or alone in your car, giving your feelings air will tell you what hurts and what needs to change.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Try not to get caught up in a dramatic scene that doesn't deserve your energy. The emotional heat of attraction can feel significant, but sometimes it's just a flare of intensity that is not important in the least. A flash. A one-off.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). You're trying to make something work, but it's uphill. Take a break. The moment you admit "this isn't it," someone new steps in with exactly what you needed. Letting go isn't giving up, it's clearing space.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Just because you can't see progress doesn't mean it's not happening. Like roots spreading underground, or healing happening at the cellular level, there's a lot going on beneath the surface before any outward results appear.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Just showing up has value. You might be surprised how many people can't manage to be where they said they would be. Also, an interaction doesn't have to go "well" to be valuable. And sometimes things are going well for the other person, even when you don't perceive them the same way.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Since you won't be able to respond to everyone who wants your attention, today is an opportunity to put some of your more universal contributions on blast. There's a way to help multiple people at once, and you will be so clever about finding it.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Once you hit your groove, life is a dance. So get ready to cover a lot of ground. Give yourself plenty of time, distance and space to practice and repeat what's working until it all gets easy.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). To be happier you need the right kind of witness. Those who get what you do and who you are will make a world of difference in your self-esteem and your mood. Don't let the best parts of you go unseen.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Keep asking people what works for them. Even if they aren't the same things that will work for you, the experiment is an adventure worth taking on. It's much better than slogging away and wondering later if you really had to.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Struggle, responsibility and suffering seem sewn to the fabric of existence. And yet children, animals, even insects seem to play. Joy is fundamental to life, not frivolous. Treat fun as a compass. Follow your bliss.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). It's like finally deciding what to make for dinner after staring into the fridge. Or finding the right wording for a difficult text. Or realizing how to start a task you've been avoiding. You'll suddenly get the sense of purpose that allows you to push forward.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (NOVEMBER 15). Welcome to your Year of Surfing Success Waves — ride, rest, repeat. Your humor wins hearts; your intuition wins opportunities. You'll make friends who feel like future family. Collaboration clicks, and parties lead to partnerships of all kinds. More highlights: Recognition for your kindness, profits from your persistence, and romantic sweetness in places that used to feel routine. Cancer and Virgo adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 1, 13, 29, 37 and 50.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Shailene Woodley is set to play legendary singer Janis Joplin in the upcoming music biography "Janis Joplin: Get It While You Can". Like a Scorpio, Shailene Woodley often picks roles with emotional weight, moral conflicts, or identity challenges (e.g., "Big Little Lies", "The Fault in Our Stars"). The actress and environmental activist was born when the sun, Mars and Pluto were all in charismatic Scorpio. Her moon is in Pisces, a boon for actors, as it lends emotional shapeshifting ability, helpful for getting into character.
