This Scorpio moon has a sting to it. There's a seriousness here, and it's not a time to mess around with a lot of what-ifs or explore new paths. This is the moment to commit to what's going on and deal with it. What would be positive and helpful? What would move the situation to a better place? These are the questions to guide the day.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). Dodgy theories abound. You're right to be skeptical. You won't be sorry for taking ideas to task — for asking questions, poking into the matter a little deeper; it's the process for getting to the truth.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). There's a very real need someone is trying to get met. He or she may not have the most gracious manner. Try not to take it personally when people say the direct thing.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You can be happy and fulfilled regardless of the little things that happen to knock you off your game, because your mood doesn't depend on whether everything is going right for you.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). Is this fun or trouble? Maybe the thing about it is to see it through without so much judgment. You're a walking tangle of contradictions, just like most people, and this is perfect.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Good news: Whatever ails you can be remedied by a supportive routine. Truly, it's the logistics that can turn a fine little mess into something you can easily steer through. Now, how will you build this routine? A Cancer can help.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You'll learn from someone who refuses to fight. This person doesn't like confrontation, doesn't believe in using aggression and has learned more civilized ways of forwarding his or her agenda.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). The building of muscle is actually a tearing process. The wear we put on muscles tears them, and the body rebuilds itself during rest for bigger, stronger muscles. Experiences of the day will work this same way to renew your mind.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). It's not as if you're really trying to regain your sense of youthful freedom and movement, but that's what will happen anyway as you spend time with happy people who know how to enjoy themselves.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). To belong — to feel useful and be an integral part of what's going on — is a good feeling. It's no small thing to gain a grasp of your place in the order of things. Celebrate this!
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Imaginary problems are hard to solve, namely because they don't exist. This is a fine time to bring out your fear, look at it, tell people about it and figure out whether it's legit.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Feed yourself with whole foods instead of factory foods and see whether that doesn't bring your energy way up. It's a little change that will make a big difference today, even if it's something you're trying just for now.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Coping with nerves is a skill that you get to learn only if you have the nerves to begin with. If you get a little anxious today, it's a sign that you care and it's an opportunity to pick up emotional skills and practice self-compassion.
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Nov. 27). The next six weeks will bring an event to stand as a marker through time, and the winding path after it will develop key relationships and inspire the poetry of your soul. A study that enhances your understanding of the natural world will enrich you in many ways this year. Claim what's yours in December; last chance. Virgo and Leo adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 3, 40, 2, 14 and 29.
FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: The lunar feature of the week is a new moon in Sagittarius that moves through a square with Neptune, to add a touch of the surreal to our experiences. The indication is for unexpected juxtapositions, chance effects, an overall dreamlike quality that throws our subconscious into the light of examination. In other words, Tuesday could be a rather trippy day that we'll be processing for a while after. A square of Venus and Uranus promises a pop of interest in the love sector to shake things up, as well.
On Friday, Mercury enters Capricorn, a practical station for the messenger. The weeks to come will remind us of the power structures we live inside. Those who have a great deal of power but aren't officially recognized for it (moms and secretaries come to mind) or choose not to flaunt it on the regular will get their day in the sun as events shake down to remind us who's really running the show. If you have ambitions of power, this Mercury transit is a time to study up and figure out whom you need to get in with to move yourself up.
CELEBRITY PROFILES: The course of rock 'n' roll was altered by the early licks of Jimi Hendrix. A tragic childhood led Hendrix to quest for freedom, personal expression and artistic liberation through his love affair with the electric guitar. Hendrix was born when the sun, Mercury and Venus were in the passionate and adventurous fire sign of Sagittarius. "Excuse me while I kiss the sky."
