Armored Moon

In civilized society, it would seem that most days don't require much courage, but this is a falsity believed by those who've become too comfortable. The status quo is flawed. Fear keeps it this way. What would you do if you were terribly brave? The moon dons a warrior's armor in Aries, reminding us that courage is just fear suited up.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Separate what is said from who is saying it. This is how you make sure to clear your own prejudice from the information. Context is important to meaning, but the most integral information will stand up to several contexts.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Your personal rules for yourself warrant examination. You're different now. You need other things, and what you face in the future will be a completely new challenge. Time for new rules.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). The higher-maintenance a person is the less free he or she is. Knowing how to live with less gives a person power. To let go of needing this or that — it's the way to a lighter, brighter spirit.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). You're not lost, yet you're experiencing a drifting feeling, as though your raft, gently tugged by the waves, is suddenly slightly farther from the shore than is comfortable. Time to paddle home.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). The unmanageable parts of life won't be the difficult ones; rather, it's the lovely ones in need of prioritizing that will require your most critical faculties and diligent efforts.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Among the saddest words are "if only." An opposite grouping isn't so easy to land on, but it's something along the lines of "I accept." It's more resigned than happy, yet "I accept" will bring you today's peace, if not joy.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You've a way of encouraging your loved ones that is absolutely unbeatable. There will be no substitute for your presence. It will be extremely important that you show up in person if even remotely possible.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You tend to feel deeper into the situation than others will, and that is your strength. Sure, it means you can hurt more. But it also gives you greater motivation to make things right through work, love and creativity.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You're not above using sneaky ways to get people to do what you want them to do, especially because what you want them to do is better for them and for everyone else involved, too.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Questions get us through. Good questions make the day better. Ask, "How can I bring a little more (love, levity, clarity...) to the situation?" It is also lucky for you now to ask the kinds of questions for which there are no answers.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Be careful how you help people. There will be a natural tendency to rush in and give what you have, but that's not always best. Let people show you what they need first.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Science and art are not opposites as suggested by some dictionaries. You'll meld the two in today's endeavor, finding a beautiful arrangement of facts and a reasonable order to fantasy.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (June 19). There is little more satisfying than being able to fill in the void where you had a lack of skill. The satisfaction will not come immediately. In fact, it will be preceded by confusion and frustration. But keep at it and you will soon be good at what you need to be good at. There's a windfall in July. In February, love rains down. Virgo and Libra adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 10, 6, 16, 37 and 18.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "I think something shady is going on at work, and I can't figure out whom to trust. Any suggestions?"

As with most things in life, trust your gut. Believe the person who doesn't make your insides feel as if they're in a vise. The proverb goes, "It is an equal failing to trust everybody, and to trust nobody." This might be well-addressed with an area of astrology called Arabic parts. Finding an Arabic parts calculator is easy. Just type it into a search engine. Then you can fill in the calculator and find where your part of allegiance is located. The mathematical formula to determine this is the position of your ascendant plus the position of your natal Saturn minus the position of your natal sun. Say your ascendant is 24 degrees Scorpio and your Saturn is 7 degrees Taurus and your sun is 25 degrees Cancer. Plug those numbers into the calculator and you get a part of allegiance in Virgo. Is one of your work colleagues a Virgo or a person with obvious Virgo qualities, such as being a list-maker, gardener or Red Cross volunteer? This person may be your strongest professional ally.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Macklemore has rapped on such topics as prescription drug addiction and the political future of the USA. He is among several Gemini rappers. The bright energy and rapid-fire wit of the twins are expressed eloquently in the poetic pop music style, as is the tendency to collaborate, and Macklemore has shown with Ed Sheeran, Chance The Rapper and Ryan Lewis.
