DEAR STACY: I read that Eddie Murphy did a scathing impression of Bill Cosby when Murphy was given an award in D.C. some weeks ago. Is this going to be on the air at some point? I'd like to see it. — Erick J., Torrance, California
DEAR ERICK: Yes, as a matter of fact, the Mark Twain Prize ceremony that took place in October is scheduled to air on PBS Nov. 23. It remains to be seen how they handle all the profanity reportedly spewed by Murphy as Cosby, riffing on an imagined response if the shamed former superstar was asked to give back his own Mark Twain Prize.
DEAR STACY: Is Jenny McCarthy related to Melissa McCarthy? — D.B., Chester, Connecticut
DEAR D.B.: Yes. They are cousins.
DEAR STACY: A friend of mine swears that the girl on the Progressive Insurance commercials was killed in an auto accident. I haven't seen anything about this, and I keep seeing the commercials. Was she in an accident? — Dbee18
DEAR DBEE18: Actress and improvisational artists Stephanie Courtney — a.k.a. Flo — is alive and well. But that rumor has been emerging off and on since a bogus report appeared on a website devoted to celebrity pranks back in 2014.
DEAR STACY: Please tell me what classical music piece was used during the farm-building scene in Harrison Ford's 1985 movie, "Witness." It doesn't really say in the credits, but that particular music sounded familiar. — Walt G., Phoenix, Arizona
DEAR WALT: The music to which you refer was part of the original score written by late revered French composer Maurice Jarre. The selection, "Building the Barn" is included on "Witness: the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack," available at Amazon.com and elsewhere. Jarre's abundant body of memorable work includes the scores for "Lawrence of Arabia," "Doctor Zhivago" and "A Passage to India" — each of which won him an Academy Award.
