DEAR STACY: What is the status of the third "Sex and the City" movie? Is it actually happening at last? — Jenny B., New Port Richey, Florida

DEAR JENNY: Nope. Although both Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon have hinted support for another big screen installment of "Sex and the City," there is nothing definite happening. In fact, just a few weeks ago, author Candace Bushnell was asked about a third feature during an interview on British TV. She said, "A couple of years ago I kept hearing there was going to be one but now it's no." She did add, however, "But I'd probably be the last to know, along with the actors."

DEAR STACY: Could you please give an update on Amanda Bynes? — Jamie V., Fillmore, California

DEAR JAMIE: The 29-year-old former rising star of "Amanda Show," "She's the Man" and "Hairspray" fame has evidently made positive strides in 2015 after years of struggle with mental health and legal issues. Reports have it that she's living in her own apartment and working on her fashion design. (She studied at the Irvine, California, Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising for a spell, you may recall.) She has been seen out in public several times, including an August gala on behalf The Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief with designer pal Michael Costello. She is also purportedly getting along better with her parents/former conservators.

DEAR STACY: Please settle a trivial bet. I say that Joanna Moore, Tatum O'Neal's mother, was one of Andy Griffith's courting interests on the classic "Andy Griffith Show." My friend doubts me. Also, whatever happened to Joanna Moore and her career? — L.T., Glendale, California

DEAR L.T.: Joanna Moore did indeed play Peggy McMillan, a love interest of Sheriff Andy Taylor, in a few episodes of the vintage "Andy Griffith Show." Unfortunately, her tumultuous personal life included a drug and alcohol-fueled down spiral that led to her loss of custody of her children Griffin and Tatum (who supported Moore in later years), multiple DUI arrests and time in a mental hospital. In 1997 she died of lung cancer at age 63.

DEAR STACY: We watched the movie "Because of Winn-Dixie" and were wondering about the dog. Was that a mutt? — Jb3

DEAR Jb3: No, Winn-Dixie was played by a French Berger Picard in that lovely 2005 film with Jeff Daniels, AnnaSophia Robb and Cicely Tyson. Actually, two of the rare herding dogs shared the role. They were chosen because they have a mutt-like appearance, and the filmmakers needed to match the dogs used in different scenes.
