DEAR STACY: The news that Simon Cowell is going to be a judge on "America's Got Talent" made me wonder: What is the status of his messy family life these days? — Gloria E., Santa Ana, Calif.

DEAR GLORIA: With his son Eric turning two next Valentine's Day, Cowell has said he's not ruling anything out when it comes to having more children and/or marrying Eric's mama, Lauren Silverman, who was previously the wife of his best friend, Andrew Silverman. The Cowell-Silvermans live in London most of the time.

DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to Huckleberry Fox? — Macey C., Chattanooga, Tenn.

DEAR MACEY: The one-time child actor traded soundstages and cameras for fields and laboratories as an agricultural researcher, working on ecological restoration. Fox, who broke into the business at age eight in "Misunderstood" and went on to numerous other TV and film roles (including playing the son in "Terms of Endearment"), is married and the father of two. He has an impressive academic history, including studying molecular biology at New York University and agro-ecology, animal science and nutrition at Cornell.

DEAR STACY: Robert Schwartzman was adorable in "The Princess Diaries." What's he doing lately? — Darla_D

DEAR DARLA_D: Schwartzman has been busy preparing his directorial debut film, "MF," this year. The frontman of the L.A.-based rock band Rooney for more than 15 years, he also stays busy with the musical production side of his career. As a composer, his tunes include Demi Lovato's "Don't Forget." He's also acted in other films, including his cousin Sofia Coppola's "Virgin Suicides" and "Lick the Star." Brother of Jason Schwartzman, Robert is the youngest son of Talia Shire (nee Coppola, sister of Francis Ford Coppola) and the late producer Jack Schwartzman.

DEAR STACY: I'm a huge fan of "Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!" and would like to know whether the announcer is the same Bill Kurtis who is the illustrious broadcast journalist. Can you give some information about him? — ALC09, Newark, NJ

DEAR ALCO9: You are correct. The 75-year-old former CBS anchor been recognized with more than 20 Emmy awards. He was born in Pensacola, Florida, and raised in Independence, Kansas. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in journalism in 1962. In 1966, he received a law degree from Washburn University School of Law and passed the Kansas bar that year.

Kurtis wasn't sure whether he'd go into law or journalism until an emotional experience. He reported on a tornado for a small Kansas station for 24 hours straight and found it to be a potent demonstration of TV's power for good, and that decided the issue for him. He subsequently went on to work in Chicago, and then moved up to network broadcasting, anchoring the CBS Morning News from New York for three-and-a-half years. At A&E, he created a singular presence on television as one of America's most prolific documentarians. He stepped down from his last anchor job in 2013, and now hosts "Through the Decades," a time-capsule program on CBS digital radio stations.
