DEAR STACY: My friend says that the actor who used to play Miley Cyrus' brother on "Hannah Montana" is much older than people think. Is that true? What is he up to these days? — Brianne L., Warren, Ohio

DEAR BRIANNE: Jason Earles, now on the Disney XD series "Kickin' It," was born in April of 1977, making him 38. He was already over 30 when he played the teenage brother of Cyrus, who is actually 16 years his junior.

DEAR STACY: I read that Mike Rowe of "Dirty Jobs" fame nearly was named host of "The Daily Show," both when it was originally coming on, and recently, when they were looking to replace Jon Stewart. What is Rowe up to now? — BennieB

DEAR BENNIEB: Rowe continues to explore the world of unorthodox occupations on CNN's "Somebody's Gotta Do It," which has been on for two seasons.

DEAR STACY: Regarding the old "Gong Show" — did any of the contestants ever find fame and fortune? — Just Curious, Cedar Rapids, IA

DEAR CURIOUS: The only "Gong Show" contestant who became a household name is Paul Reubens, aka Pee Wee Herman. He appeared on "The Gong Show" twice.

DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to Bobby Sherman? — RobinP12

DEAR ROBINP12: Now 72, the one-time "Here Come the Brides" heartthrob, who had seven Top 40 hits during his singing career, is retired from the entertainment business and public life.

He continued to act on shows such as "Murder, She Wrote" and "Frasier," and went out with Peter Noone and Davy Jones as part of the Teen Idols Tour of 1998, but left show business after doing his last concert as a solo performer in 2001.

During that time, however, Sherman had developed a whole other professional life. Inspired by a guest role on the Jack Webb series "Emergency!" he became a trained emergency medical technician in 1988. He went on to work for the LAPD as a specialist reserve officer, training police cadets in CPR and first aid — work he loved, for which he was eventually promoted to captain status.

In 1999, he became a reserve San Bernardino County sheriff, also in a medical-training capacity. He founded the Bobby Sherman Volunteer EMT Foundation, which supplies medical services to community events. Sherman, who married twice, has adult twin sons from his first marriage and is the grandfather of five. Another claim to fame: he built a one-fifth-scale model of Disneyland's Main Street entirely by hand in his yard.
