DEAR STACY: When does Stephen Colbert take over for David Letterman? Can't wait! — Edward V., Fullerton, California

DEAR EDWARD: It will be next year, date to be determined. My guess is they'll announce that with much fanfare during the Television Critics Association press tour, July 17. Stay tuned.

DEAR STACY: Whatever became of the guy who sang the immortal "Wild Thing"? Did we ever hear from him again? — Bob C., Cedar Rapids, Iowa

DEAR BOB: You are referring to Reg Presley, lead singer of the U.K.'s The Troggs — a group hailed as godfathers of punk. He died in 2013 of lung cancer after a succession of strokes. In addition to their still-often-played "Wild Thing," Presley wrote the hits "With a Girl Like You", "I Can't Control Myself" and "Love Is All Around." He also authored a book, released in 2002, called "Wild Things They Don't Tell Us," that dealt with subjects that fascinated him, from crop circles and alien space craft to alchemy.

DEAR STACY: What happened in that mysterious case where Olivia Newton-John's boyfriend fell off a fishing boat and disappeared? A friend says he turned up alive? — Shawna B., Huntington, West Virgina

DEAR SHAWNA: Patrick McDermott was reportedly located by a group of private eyes working for Dateline NBC in April, 2010, about five years after he went missing at sea. He was said to be living under his birth name near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico — and had faked his own death to get out from under $30,000 in debt and enable his son to cash in on a $100,000 life insurance policy. However, some still believe he drowned — notably his wife/widow Yvette Nipar. Newton-John moved on. She had been wed to second husband, Australian entrepreneur John Easterling, since 2008.

DEAR STACY: Whatever became of Cynthia Rhodes of "Dirty Dancing"? — Jane G., New Port Richey, Florida

DEAR JANE: Rhodes made the 1991 adventure flick, "Curse of the Crystal Eye" with Jameson Parker. Then she became lead singer for a group called Animotion, whose producers included Richard Marx, who had been brought in to help with the music on the 1987 "Dirty Dancing." They married, set up their home base in Chicago and she retired from the limelight to concentrate on her husband and three sons. Sadly, this past April the couple announced the dissolution of their marriage after 25 years.
