DEAR STACY: What has Mackenzie Phillips been doing lately? It seems she pretty much dropped out of sight after her bombshell revelation of incest with her father. — Lauren G., San Luis Obispo, California
DEAR LAUREN: Not so. Phillips has done TV shows (including "Criminal Minds" and "Hot in Cleveland") and other acting work since her controversial "High on Arrival" memoir was released in 2009. She also does public speaking engagements in which she shares the inspirational story of getting sober after decades of drug abuse. Phillips currently works as a substance abuse counselor at the Breathe Life Healing Centers. She recently told Oprah Winfrey that, with the exception of her son and her mother, Susan Adams, her family members had broken with her as a result of going public with her incest story.
DEAR STACY: What is the song used in the Dodge Ram commercial showing beautiful views of California? — JDSM
DEAR JDSM: That is the Ashford & Simpson golden oldie, "California Soul," which has been recorded by Marlena Shaw (the Ram commercial uses her version), The 5th Dimension, The Miracles, Jamiroquai and other acts.
DEAR STACY: Whatever became of the actor who played Ralph Malph on "Happy Days"? — Wondering in Canton
DEAR WONDERING: Don — or Donny — Most, who played Ralph on the vintage sitcom, developed a second career as a director with many stage productions in the Los Angeles area to his credit.
DEAR STACY: In the movie "Hang 'Em High," there is a beautiful song that is played when Clint Eastwood and Inger Stevens go on a picnic. Can you tell me the name of that song? — Tamera Y., Bloomfield, New Jersey
DEAR TAMERA: The music is simply referred to as "Rachel (Love Theme)" and it's part of the Dominic Frontiere score for the 1967 movie. CD releases of the music include a 1991 disc that partners "Hang 'Em High" music with "Guns for San Sebastian" by Ennio Morricone.
