DEAR STACY: A friend said that they might be bringing back "Knots Landing," a new version, the way they did with "Beverly Hills, 90210." Any truth to that? — Jeannie B., Tucson, Ariz.
DEAR JEANNIE: Perhaps your friend was wishfully thinking because there doesn't appear to be any evidence of such a plan. In fact, I asked Nicollette Sheridan, the notorious Paige of the original cast, who said, "I haven't heard any such thing. I'd be surprised. It would be pretty hard to replicate it. It ran for 14 years, and it had its time in the sun and was a huge success." The former Edie Britt of "Desperate Housewives" is also not so sure a new "Knots" could work in today's market. "I don't know if it could. I think the times are changing and things are getting edgier and more surprising."
DEAR STACY: What is Jon Heder up to these days? — Taylor M., Cedar Rapids, Ohio
DEAR TAYLOR: The "Napoleon Dynamite" and "Blades of Glory" dude is doing a pilot for Disney XD — writing, directing, producing and starring. The currently untitled project is a half-hour show in which he'll play a guy who, at 13, is yanked out of his happy life as a suburban middle schooler and taken to live in a remote cave in India while his nature documentarian parents make a film about a tortoise. Then, at 28, he returns to pick up where he left off, in seventh grade. Goofy, huh?
DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to Grant Shaud, who played the producer on "Murphy Brown"? — Ruth R., Lafayette, La.
DEAR RUTH: Although he's continued to work, Shaud, who played Miles Silverberg on "Murphy Brown" from 1988 to 1996, hasn't been as visible since the show wrapped. He's been seen on episodic shows including Fox's "Oliver Beene," on which he was a regular, and "Touched by an Angel," on which he guested. He's also lent his voice to animated productions including the 1998 "Antz" and taken on several stage roles.
DEAR STACY: What is ahead for Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the "Harry Potter" movies? What else has he been in? Can you tell a little about him? — Joanna S., Canton, Ohio
DEAR JOANNA: Besides "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" coming up July 15, Felton has the new James Franco "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" (complete with an American accent) coming out Aug. 5 and the horror film "The Apparition" on the way for 2012. Handsome blond, blue-eyed Felton was born Sept. 22, 1987 in Kensington, London. He grew up in Surrey with his parents and three brothers. Felton started doing commercials in the U.K. in 1995, soon graduating to film roles in such fare as 1999's "Anna and the King," in which he played Jodie Foster's son. He's also exhibited talent as a singer, having been a member of several choirs as a child, and as an athlete who plays a wide range of sports including basketball, cricket, tennis, swimming and ice skating. Felton left Howard of Effingham School in June 2004 after completing his graduation requirements and for a present bought himself a BMW.
