Thaao Penghlis, who last played the cunning Mikkos Cassadine on "GH" in 1981, returns to the character and show on Jan. 30. Mikkos was part of the Ice Princess storyline. I still never understood why the Cassadines thought they could rule the world if they froze Port Charles. I still do not get it. If anyone did or does, please email at [email protected]. The one that makes the most sense — unlike the storyline — wins a prize and my undying gratitude. For years, "Days of our Lives" viewers saw him play the villainous Andre and his valiant brother Tony. Penghlis really is a Renaissance man who loves art, poetry and acting. He dos not like goodbye parties. He once told me, "Whenever my character gets axed, I tell them no cake-of-death party," referring to the ever-present we-got-rid-of-you-but-here-is-a-pretty-cake-for-your-trouble going away festivities.
TV Guide Network is so pleased with the ratings its repeats of "Young and Restless" are garnering, they are presenting a one-hour documentary, "Who Shot the Daytime Soap," on Monday Dec.16 at 2 p.m. EST. Forty daytime legends, including Susan Lucci, Linda Dano, Colleen Zenk and Robin Mattson discuss what has happened to the soap opera medium.
"GH" viewers may think Heather (Robin Mattson) was killed by her son, Franco (Roger Howarth), but remember, this is "GH" and Heather we are talking about. Dead is never really dead. Mattson posted that Heather is a force to be reckoned with; anything is possible with Heather.
They are still the one.
