Can she just go away? The "she" is Meghan Markle. She keeps saying she wants out of the spotlight, yet she keeps herself in it. The latest: Her horror that her time as a suitcase girl on "Deal or No Deal" was all about how she looked. Huh, what did she think it was? A test to get into MENSA? She felt belittled when asked to pull in her middle. I did live talk shows for over 40 years. Every producer — and the producer is the boss — wanted something else: different hairstyle; different hair color; "take off the shoes, they are ugly"; "you look dumpy in that dress"; and on and on. The only thing I refused to do was not be funny. I know this will be shocking, but I tend to be sarcastic. I switched stations. The general manager told me not to be funny. Viewers do not want to see funny in the morning. OK. It was a live show, so I was even snarkier. He was gone in two months; I stayed on for decades. As for Mrs. Harry, she gets on her podcast and says how awful everyone was to her. It may be true, but it gets tiresome. From moving to a new mansion to what the kids are wearing, she is 24/7 and it is all about her. I bet Harry is not wild about it. She felt slighted because her parents had her grandmother raise her. They were busy helping children overseas deal with life's problems.
Richard Dean Anderson of "MacGyver" had the role of Jeff Webber in "General Hospital" for four years. William R. Moses is now taking on the role. Denise Crosby plays his wife. They are the parents of Liz. The mother was never on screen. Liz needs her biological parents as she tries to figure out what "awful" thing she did in the past and why. Viewers have been furious because Liz has been off the canvas for a few weeks. That is how it goes in soaps — from front burner to back burner to no burner. My issue is what they are doing with Austin. Roger Howarth is so talented and liked. Why is he relegated to "Would you like a cup of coffee?" scenes? Also, Moses' younger brother Rick played the bad guy in the left-handed boy plot.
Genie Francis is back on the "GH" set. Look for character Laura to be involved in a major mystery. Hopefully, she will interact with Kin Shriner's Scott. The characters and actors have large history.
I so hate "you are nothing without a man" plots. "The Bold and the Beautiful" revolves around men being in love with two women and not knowing who to pick. We are talking about you, Liam and Ridge. The actors are great, so they make it work. I would love it if both ladies kick them to the curb. On the other hand, the "GH" love story for Anna and Valentin is amazing. The actors have chemistry; they are beautiful and they are allowed to have differences and still love being together — sort of like life.
