PRIME TIME

If you watch "South Park," you know Kenny is never really dead. Well, that is not the case for a main character on "The Simpsons." A popular yet unnamed character will be killed off this season.

***

Not a lot of ratings rhythm for "Dancing with the Stars." The show fell two rating points in its third week. The exit of a fan favorite Bill Nye (the science guy) will not help the show.

"Shark Tank" star Mark Cuban is in court for insider trading. Cuban sold stock in the momma.com website after learning the company was in trouble. The multi-billionaire, who is expected to take the stand, says he did nothing wrong. He does not face jail time, just a fine. As for the show he sits on, it received some good news. According to Deadline News:

"CNBC has licensed off-network cable rights to ABC's primetime series "Shark Tank." CNBC will begin telecasting the reality series repeats in January of '14 with an expanded schedule in fall of '14. Also under the deal, CNBC will add a selection of "Shark Tank" episodes to its TV Everywhere campaign, including on demand via TV, online and mobile to authenticated subscribers.

"Mark Hoffman, President and CEO of CNBC, said in today's announcement. 'That practical knowledge and theme is pitch perfect for CNBC at night.' Now in its fifth season on ABC, the series dominates its Friday competition in all key demos and is consistently No. 1-ranked in its time period in the 18-49 and 25-54 demos. On its fifth season premiere, this past September 20, "Shark Tank" opened as the night's No. 1 show, with the series' most-watched season premiere ever, and was up double-digits in all key demos."

Two big names appeared in new sitcoms last week. "The Crazy Ones," starring Robin Williams, and "The Michael J. Fox Show" both did well in their debuts. Each show presented back-to-back new episodes. Both programs shed viewers. CBS aired a repeat episode of "Hostages," but it did not do any better than it did in its debut. "Blacklist," staring James Spader, is a hit for NBC. "The Voice" continues to give the struggling NBC high ratings.
