After nine years, Rena Sofer (Quinn) has decided to exit "The Bold and the Beautiful." She announced on her social media site that Aug. 5 was her last tape day. She thanked her fans, the cast and the crew. While she had been on the back burner for a while, she recently was in a hot, hot, hot romance with Carter. No word on why she has chosen to leave and where she is going. While she started her soap career as Rocky on "Loving," she is best remembered for playing Lois on "General Hospital." Not only did she get to play a Brooklyn-talking, gum-chewing, finger-snapping, off-kilter character; she met her real-life husband, Wally Kurth (Ned on "General Hospital"). The couple, who divorced, have a daughter. Sofer then married, divorced and remarried her second husband, Sanford Bookstaver. As for Quinn, no word if they will recast or send her away. Victor St. Lawrence, who plays Carter, will be staying with the show.
Robyn Griggs, 49, died this week while in hospice. She had dealt with stage 4 cervical cancer for several years. She spent much time on social media talking about how she was dealing with her illness. She said she tried to laugh and be brave, but there were days she admitted that coping was hard. She spent several years playing Amanda Cory on "Another World."
Lindsey Pearlman, who played a barista on "General Hospital," was found dead in her car Feb. 18. Her cause of death was finally revealed this week. The Los Angeles County medical examiner ruled her death a suicide. She ingested copious amounts of sodium nitrate. Yep, the stuff used to preserve cold cuts.
Kelly Thiebaud (Brett) is exiting "General Hospital." She is returning to her prime-time show "Station 19." This week, Kin Shriner celebrates 45 years at "General Hospital." I have known him all those years and he is the real deal. Next week, I will share more about the moments we shared.
