Talk about a roller-coaster week: On Sunday, "General Hospital" star Bryan Craig picked up a Daytime Emmy for best supporting actor. On Wednesday, his corvette was totaled. The crash was not his fault. While driving in Hollywood, a woman in a red jeep ran a red light. To avoid a collision, Craig swerved. Unfortunately, he swerved into a fire hydrant. While he sustained scrapes and bruises, according to TMZ, he is glad he did not suffer more serious injuries.

"Days of Our Lives" star Deidre Hall, who has played Marlena on the show for nearly 40 years, will be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Hall's star will join over 2,500 others. The attraction draws nearly 26 million viewers each year.

The road to getting one's name on the famous street is a long one. Nominations can come from fans, industry insiders, public relations firms or other sources. The nomination must include $30,000, a letter of acceptance from the nominee and the star's agreement to attend the ceremony. Some stars, such as Dustin Hoffman, have said "no thank you." George Clooney turned down the personal appearance. Surprisingly, some major names have not been nominated. Deidre Hall joined several other daytime stars, including Susan Lucci (Erica, "All My Children") and Kelly Ripa (who played Hayley on "AMC," before she was a talk show host).

Melissa Ordway (Abby, "The Young and the Restless") and hubby Ben Gaston (original Ben on "Days") welcomed their first child last week. Baby Olivia is as beautiful as her parents.

Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe, "Days of Our Lives") also welcomed a baby this month. Grant Turnbull, her husband, posted baby pictures of their new son, Torin. Of course this baby is also gorgeous. Bjorlin returns to her "Days" role on June 8. Patrika Darbo, who plays her mom, Nancy, is also headed back to Salem.

Olivia Rose Keegan (Claire, "Days") is on contract. Her character is a teen crooner. She can talk about that with Bjorlin, who lifted her voice in operatic fashion on "Days."

Josh Morrow (Nicholas, "The Young and the Restless") has been superb all week. His grief and anger over the death of Nicholas' wife, Sage, was riveting. He must save his funeral speech scene for his Emmy reel. The actor, who joined the show 20 years ago, already has one Emmy and five nominations. He should have bookend Emmys after his work this year. He can do it all — self-deprecating humor, romance, parental angst, anger.

"The Match Game" is getting a reboot. ABC will run 10 episodes. Alec Baldwin is set to host. You read that right. Gene Rayburn, who hosted the show, held a narrow stick microphone. No word on the microphone or who will be on the six-member panel that tries to match answers with contestants. The original, which ran from 1973-1982, was an afternoon hit. Betty White, Richard Dawson, Orson Bean (who is married to "The Bold and the Beautiful" actress Ally Mills) were often part of the program. They dished up answers that were "racy" for the time.

During its run the show had to deal with network censors. The censors literally counted how many times "hell" or "damn" could be used. It's a bit looser these days. Under the tutelage of the FCC, network broadcasts from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. cannot use profanity, the reason being that children might hear the words. Last year the FCC turned its censorship duties over to Congress. If a network violates the guidelines a show faces fines and even cancellation. Cable operators are not part of the law.
