Say it isn't so. "Judge Mathis" and "The People's Court" with Judge Marilyn have been canceled. I love my court TV shows. I started watching because "these cases are real," as they were an alternative to watching "Jerry Springer." Springer seems like a nice enough guy, but after watching an episode I would always need to take a shower to take off the "yuck, who are these people?" feeling. As for "Maury," I worked with him for several years, just a great guy, but I do not care who is anyone's baby's daddy. Ellen DeGeneres was canceled when everyone realized what I knew — she only pretended to be nice. In the real world, she is one of those, "Do you know who I am? Do not look at my face" people. We know what you are — nasty and petty. Dr. Phil is snapping his tongue depressor in two. Thankfully, our girl Judge Judy will still be saying, "I DON'T BELIEVE YOU." Sadly, she let go of Bailiff Byrd. She said he would be too expensive. He retorted no one even asked him how much he wanted. In the wishful thinking department, maybe one of those shows would be replaced by a soap.
"Midsomer Murders" is one of the best shows on TV, The British mystery drama has been around for over 20 years. The mysteries are the real deal. In the end ,when Chief Inspector Barnaby, the show's main character, reveals the murder, it makes you go, "Oh my God, I cannot believe it!" But if you follow the rules, it makes sense. The production values are amazing. Most every episode has a special setting, be it a crime scene, an old mansion, a forest, drainage ditch, an art studio, a park, a children's fair, a pub. The character's interaction is perfect. He always gives an "I told you so" attitude to his assistant and lower-level police officers. Barnaby and wife Joyce act like a real married couple — they spar, they frown, they laugh, and under it all you know they would die for each other. There is a second addition to the show. The inspector has a cousin who takes over when the other Barnaby goes away. Actually, I like this one better. The chief is a bit softer, his wife is fun and he has a great relationship with his dog Sykes. He talks to Sykes when unraveling a mystery. When his human aide suggests Barnaby could talk to a human, Barnaby deadpans, "I could," but in the end he will always consult with the dog first. It airs on myriad American channels such as PBS and AMC.
Add "The Young and the Restless" executive producer Anthony Morina to the 'Why can't they keep it in their pants?" club. Other members include Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby and R. Kelly. Morina, who has been with the show for 14 years ,has been charged by actress Briana Thomas, who played a barista for two episodes. She claims Morina was inappropriate. According to Daytime Confidential, he offered to give her private acting lessons, which could further her stay on the show. It appears he ogled her when she was doing a pool scene in a flimsy bikini and stared at her crotch. It appears a few "Y&R" actors are glad that he has been turned in. As for Morina, he claimed the sexual harassment training he had to complete was "b———t" and blamed "b——-s" who had their "panties in a bunch" and "didn't know how to take a compliment." A trial is set for this month.
Question of the day" Why do men who have fame, fortune and adulation risk it all for a minutelong poke? I will tell you why: Because instead of thinking with their big brain they are thinking with their small brain.
