CBS soap viewers are mad as hell and do not want to take it. They will have to; it is March Madness. "The Young and the Restless" and "The Bold and the Beautiful" will be preempted March 19 and 20 for college basketball. Hoops are big in the sports world. The news department calls the shots when it comes to bumping a show. It is called the big dance. It is a big thing for sports betters and watchers.

If daytime drama is your thing, tune in to "Days of Our Lives." The acting is wonderful; the plot lines are intriguing; and it has witty dialogue. It also respects all ages. Teens, middle agers and golden agers are front and center. Also, every character is good and bad. One complaint: The Johnny Devil put a fork in it. It was good for a bit. The devil left Marlena and entered Johnny. Johnny has made everyone miserable. Yes, Renee Dumonde is a thing. Kristen made Sarah think she is the vixen Renee. Renee wants Tony. Anna is the one who plans to get rid of Renee. The scenes between Xander and Sarah are great. However, Paul Telfer (Xander) is wonderful when he is naughty, sarcastic and funny.

Victoria Konefal (Ciara) of "Days of Our Lives" has decided not to sign a long-term contract. She will be seen from time to time. The actress plans to pursue other acting gigs. So, Ben and Ciara may be on break. The actor just signed on for several years. So, what will happen to Ben without the woman who made him a better man? He went from serial killer to good guy, thanks to Ciara.

When you watch as much as TV as I do, you also watch a lot of commercials. Sometimes the ads are better than the shows. Geico was always great until now. They must be using a new ad agency. Not working. Over at Progressive, where the heck is Jamie? For some reason, it has turned into the Flo and her irritating sister show.

Some commercials make me cry. The ASPCA ad showing mistreated animals always brings tears to my eyes. The two kids in the Shriners Hospital commercial are heartwarming. On "General Hospital," Valentin, who looked like the elephant man showed what made him so evil, was being locked up because of his looks and twisted body but was saved by The Shriners. Valentin is now a good guy who will do bad things when needed. His romance with Anna is pure magic.

I love the EMO commercials for Liberty Mutual. Some commercials make no sense. The Beefy Meat Pies for Liberty were a "What are they thinking of?" moment. After a year, Liberty decided to ax it. It went on for 360 days longer than needed. Finally, the Mayhem commercial. Nothing says, "Buy my insurance!" from a pitch man who looks as if he was tossed on the side of the road and then thrown in a dumpster.
