Have an extra $35,800 to throw around? If you do, you can attend Brad and Colleen Bell's bash for President Barack Obama's reelection bid. The event is being sponsored by comedian Will Ferrell and his wife, Viveca Paulin. If you want to pay a little extra to attend the dinner, $71,600 will get you two tickets to the Democratic speaker series and a chance to party with First Lady Michelle Obama at a private reception on Jan. 31. You will also get a photo opportunity, plus a chance to dine with the president and first lady at Brad and Colleen's Holmby Hills, Calif., estate on Feb. 15. You can attend a concert earlier in the day at the Bell pad for $250.
While every "One Life to Live" viewer is jubilant because four of the "OLTL" characters are moving on to "General Hospital", fans might not be as delirious as when the announcement was made. Kassie DePaiva (Blair) let her fans know via her Facebook that at present, she had no plans to move to Los Angeles. The invite that was extended to her, Roger Howarth (Todd), Kristen Alderson (Starr) and Michael Easton (John) really appears to be a drop-in. According to DePaiva, for a few days in February, they will appear on the show to let viewers know what would have happened to the "One Life to Live" characters had the show been able to give its closing-show send-off. It was changed when Prospect Park said it was going to put the show on the Internet.
A "GH" representative says that rumors of Melissa Archer (Natalie) coming to "GH" in May have no facts to back them up. Of course, you never know if the ratings will spike for "General Hospital" when the "One Life to Live" stars come on for a bit, there may be some more Llanview citizens make a stop in Port Charles.
As for "GH," please, please, please watch the show starting last week. It has been so good. Head Writer Ron Carlivati really knows how to take one incident and affect almost everyone on the canvas. That is true soap opera writing. The story where Johnny learns that the woman he thought was his sister is really his mother and that the man considered his father is really his grandfather has amazing potential. It's not all that far-fetched; in prior years, there were hints that Claudia was more than his doting sister. In real life, both Jack Nicholson and John Lennon also thought a relative other than their mom was their mom and did not find out the truth until they were past their teen years. Also, the pairing of Carly and Johnny is brilliant.
Two long-running "Bold and Beautiful" actors are now off contract. Brandon Beemer (Owen) and Leslie-Anne Down (Jackie) are now on non-contract.
The Darnell Williams character on "Young and Restless" comes to town in two weeks and he is named Sarge.
Sad to report that "Dirty Soap," which we found very interesting, will not be getting a second season.
