Making a list and checking it twice? Gotta get something nice, but don't want to worry about getting the size right, right? Well, here's a stress free way to do your gift buying for everyone on your list without worrying if you got the size right!

—Yes, gift cards are the obvious place to start. You can't go wrong with a little bit of plastic from their favorite store mailed the old fashioned way via snail mail or electronically delivered right to their email account. But before you order up a slew of these to YOUR favorite box store, do a little sleuthing and at least find out where THEY like to shop. It doesn't take much to make a "one size fits all" gift much more special and a gift card that they will truly enjoy using instead of trading it in online.

—Have a hat attack. You can never have enough hats...and there is a hat, beanie, baseball cap, fedora, etc. for everyone from the newest baby in your family to your favorite grandpa. You can find these tony toppers in all price ranges and a huge assortment of colors, prints and patterns. A Santa hat is always a hit this time of year, of course. Stock up on these at your local dollar store.

—Add a pair of gloves and a wooly scarf. Winter accessories are a welcome gift — especially at this time of year — and the more whimsical, the merrier for the young at heart. Splurge on luxurious cashmere when you really want a special gift.

—Wrap it up. Capes are another way to make a holiday gift extra special for the fashionista. A big trend this season, and an easy "one size fits all" option. Ditto for faux fur wraps and stoles just in time to wear for festive parties.

—Baubles and bangles and beads, on my. Everyone loves a new pair of dangly earrings or a sparkly brooch or an armful of jingle jangle bangles. There are also plenty of statement making necklaces that will guarantee years of enjoyment. Spend a little or spend a lot, make it diamonds or not, jewelry is always a treasured gift. Scour the vintage stores for more one-of-a-kind inspiration.

—It's all in the bag. Santa can't do without one, and neither can anyone else on your list. Whether it's an elegant designer handbag, a travel carry-all or a canvas tote for picnics to come, there's a bag for all occasions. Little wristlet purses that double as cosmetic pouches or evening clutches count too. Monogram them for an extra personal touch. And let's face it, most of us can never have enough!

—Make it beautiful. Who doesn't love lotions and potions? Check out deals and steals on beauty products that abound during the gift-giving season. There are lots of ways to BOGO that will give you even more ways to divide and conquer. You might even have a little something left over for yourself!

—Book it. There are also new fashion books and magazines for the stylish somebodies on your holiday list. This year, Kate Spade's new book, "Living Colorfully" will be a top pick. Or if you have a hair aficionado on your list: "Country Music Hair" by Erin Duvall; and the ultimate coffee table book: "Jeweler: Masters, Mavericks, and Visionaries of Modern Design." And with coloring books all the rage this year, they'll love Vogue magazine's latest "Vogue's Coloring Book" (vogue.com)...the perfect way to color away all the stress of the holidays.
