The recent entrance of Mars into Scorpio is starting to stir passions, to progress the plot of our personal and professional lives, and to introduce possibilities that were previously not an option. But let's not go too quickly or too far off course. The Capricorn moon puts some much-needed structure and decorum into the atmosphere.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). The smart ones you know recognized long ago that they couldn't change you even if they tried. However strong-willed you are, you're not entirely inflexible. You will do what you can to adapt to the needs of your loved ones.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Do what's right, even if it's hard. What's good for you may not be the most obviously appealing choice. Sort out situations reasonably, and don't be led or even swayed in the slightest by your appetites.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You may not feel obligated to anyone, but it only takes a hint of a reminder for you to realize that you are. Perhaps you signed a contract or made a promise. You'll proudly fulfill your obligation.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). You've sometimes been the kind of friend who asked for little and gave a lot. You usually don't mind being the more generous one — you can always be proud of your contribution. But for now, seek a more equitable arrangement.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You cannot assume that what is good for you is good for another person, even if that person is very much like you or closely related. Before you make a decision that affects another person, really put yourself in his or her shoes.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You expect a lot of yourself, and you'll also be extremely pleased at what you can do. Holding another person to this same expectation, however, will bring disappointment. Happiness is self-reliance.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Impulsive moves will work out fine in the end, but you're better off thinking things through from the start. Thinking ahead helps you economize both your time and money.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Those who try to direct you will be reminded that it is not such an easy thing to do, unless you were already headed in that direction. Your independence is legendary. You, quite simply, take care of yourself.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You're friendly for the sake of being congenial. You don't smile because you want something or need something from others. Not everyone is like you, though. You'll be wise to give a thought as to their motives.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You'll feel mature next to some of your peers. It's not that you're entirely jaded. But what others consider romantic, you find silly, false and misleading. You'd rather be spared the melodrama.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). If you can't seem to find a moment to yourself, it's probably because everyone thinks you're the life of the party. You'll draw them in with your instinct for fun, and they don't want to leave your side.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). A rush of feeling will come over you. Why try to stop the emotions from happening? That kind of effort seems futile to you. Your heart will speak, and you will follow.
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Sept. 16). All will be impressed with the potency of your creative drive. You will transform ordinary resources into objects and systems of extraordinary beauty. The best part is that your work is also useful to those around you. October brings a mentor and a financial backer. December builds the bonds of love and friendship. Gemini and Pisces people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 40, 1, 14, 28 and 21.
SCHOOLDAYS! THE LEO STUDENT: An intensely creative spirit drives Leo to learn about the world. So it is not the knowledge itself that Leo is after, but rather the specific way that Leo can use it in order to make something of him or herself. In this way, Leo can be practical and specific when it comes to his or her studies. Leo wants to know what will be on the test and doesn't want to be bothered with the backstory or any extraneous details. The social aspects of school are extremely important to this sign. The cat realizes early on that relationships make the world go around. THE VIRGO STUDENT: The teacher's pet is often a thoughtful Virgo, as this sign won't skimp on the details that make for academic excellence. Ruled by Mercury, Virgo has a keen grasp of the "who, what, when and where" of educational factoids and will cover all subjects comprehensively — all blanks will be filled in. This sign is naturally focused and organized and will have high expectations in regard to grades. A self-motivated individual, Virgo needs little monitoring, except to make sure that Virgo is properly challenged. This sign would rather get an "A" in an easy class than risk a lesser grade in a difficult class.
CELEBRITY PROFILES: Nick Jonas is often considered the most serious sibling of his clan, and perhaps his cool demeanor has something to do with the strong earth-sign energy in his natal chart. With six luminaries in earth signs, he is exceptionally grounded for a teenager. These influence also suggest that he has excellent rhythm, a head for business and the stamina for career longevity.
