Split Moon

The mood will change mid-day with the moon change from Capricorn to Aquarius. Morning will be most productive in the practical sense, although what gets accomplished in the second part of the day will have far-reaching effects. A lunar square of Mars could produce a battle of the alphas. How important is it that you're thought of as the leader?

ARIES (March 21-April 19). When you find yourself wanting too much, try this spiritual exercise: Ignore your desired object completely, actively, even. Detachment is the key to perspective. Perspective often brings answers.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Go on through life the way you normally do, but the others won't see it that way. In fact, as your admirer sees it, an orchestra of heavenly harps seems to be playing with your every move.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). If you ran from everything that made you feel uneasy or jumpy, it would be a boring life indeed. Your nerves will act as a kind of metal detector, leading you toward the good stuff.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Don't skip steps. It may seem like you have a clear shot between first base and home plate, but if you don't hit all of the other bases in between you won't get the point.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Don't look for inspiration from on high. Look for it instead but a few rungs up the ladder you are climbing. Someone with similar abilities and circumstances will motivate you to the next level.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Your busy mind is always checking to make sure you've covered the bases and all is lining up logically. When you're happy (as you will be today), don't ask questions. Just enjoy it!

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You're no slave to other people's opinions, and yet you can't help but hear and process their input. You'll owe today's success to your ability to detach and compartmentalize.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You're not about to wait around for some serendipitous happening to lift you out of a stale mood or a boring scene. Make the first move to put yourself in whimsy's way and the fun will immediately ignite.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). There's some less-than-exciting energy swirling around, and maybe it's even negative. Don't mirror it. You be the magic mirror. Project the mood you want to live in and the others will get pulled into the world of that.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Let the world push and rush while you move slowly. Slowness is effective. Slowness is cool. Slowness allows you to savor what's good in this. Be like the gods who, with the luxury of all the time there is, can't be bothered to hurry up.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). When that certain person gives you a compliment you will feel the brilliantly flashing star at the core of you that has always been there, which usually goes unnoticed by you.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You know better than to wait for divine inspiration to strike lightning-like or call thunderously from the heavens with explicit directions. Divine inspiration will come, though, in its usual form: soft, small and bliss-filled.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Jan. 10). Because you have a lot of courage this year, you'll have a lot of life this year, with perhaps twice as many adventures and new people inhabiting your days as in years past. Don't sign on for more than you can comfortably work into your professional life; the stress will not pay off! Love and commitment come in July. Scorpio and Leo adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 50, 12, 1, 14 and 32.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: Has random misfortune knocked you off your game? Have key relationships spun you outside your original plan? Has a recent plot twist thrown you for a loop? For those who feel that life has put them at some kind of disadvantage, take heart. The cosmic triangle that's the centerpiece of the week promises to give the most to the ones experiencing fresh frenzy. Shaken from a comfortable reality, an edgy energy and outsider's perspective will help the newly wounded see opportunities no one else can. While pampered types complacently take their grounded surroundings for granted, the disadvantaged take action.

Another benefit of this harmonious position of the sun and Jupiter is the creative energy and optimism that flows from honest interactions. If you've been creatively stifled and unable to come up with the ideas and solutions to improve your experience, this trine is your golden ticket. Instead of trying to conjure up a plan, work in the opposite direction. Drop your defenses. Try to be more truthful and humble. Let go of prideful attachments and grand notions about yourself. What you'll find at the core of all that's been stripped away: freedom.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Two-time former world heavyweight boxing champion, Olympic gold medalist and ordained Baptist minister George Foreman brings his winning spirit to every endeavor. Foreman's natal sun and lucky Jupiter in competitive, challenge-loving Capricorn are fueled by Venus in high-energy Sagittarius — an aspect that also favors broad thinking and a sophisticated worldview that attracts opportunity.
