The first Father's Day in the USA was celebrated on June 19, 1910, although it took several decades to make the day for dads an official holiday. This year, the stars celebrate with the solstice occurring just a few hours before, and a solar eclipse and new moon in Cancer, the sign of domesticity, to shimmer some luck onto the occasion. Neptune goes retrograde to stir up some nostalgia after the fact.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). With your talent and social awareness, it's pretty easy to make yourself look good. This week things get interesting because you exercise your generosity of spirit to help someone else shine, too. You'll either execute an amazing makeover or you'll refine what's excellent until it's spectacular.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Just as there are a few possible routes to your grocery, there are a few alternate routes to love. So you don't have to worry at every turn whether you are on the right road. Things aren't as they seem. You may appear to be steering away from the general direction when you're actually on a shortcut.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). The more elements you introduce to a scenario, the more organized you must be to handle the numbers. New additions seem small and easily accommodated, though it's not the size that matters. Everything will shift to make room. New touchpoints form, and relationships become a web. Stay alert and systemized.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). It's hard to win a game without knowing who is the opponent. This is an excellent week to figure it out. We are all our own worst enemies and best allies. Try to see the part of you who is not helping the situation. Once you name, define, study and understand the opponent, you will be positioned to overcome them.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). The protagonist of the story is a person who wants something and does something to get it. A character who does not take action, and instead exhibits a series of reactions, is not the hero of the story. In every way, you endeavor to take charge this week, behaving with intention and forwarding your own plot.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You are attracted to minds at work. You will not find many who are as curious as you are, though even one is enough for endless possibilities of discussion, play, projects and activities. A meeting of the minds is a powerful meeting indeed and will lay the groundwork for other possibilities.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You suspect that if you were given long stretches of time, space and endless resources, then you would do your best work. Maybe it's true, but often it's the crunchy, difficult and stressful situations that bring out your brilliance. This week, you will be creative in different environments, some adverse, some ideal.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Your experience has brought you to this place of power, which is also, ultimately, a position of service and assistance. You'll be looking out for ways to help the story along. You're the one who will take the coarse information and refine it to a level of elegant intelligence. Your audience needs you.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). What you think about, you bring about. To control the mind can be a very difficult task, akin to reigning in wild horses. It gets a little easier when you just consider the things you admire and love, the calming things and where you go for comfort. Your preferences are a navigational device you can trust.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). When painting a wall, using a primer may seem like a step that can be skipped. However, it is essential to a quality outcome. The same is true in matters of communication. Start with commonalities. Lay a positive groundwork as a conversational primer. The outcome depends on starting with good feelings.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). The I Ching, the ancient Chinese book of divination, suggests that fire on the mountain is catastrophic for the man but no big deal for the mountain, which has, over millions of years, seen it all. You're a bit like the mountain this week, nonreactive, wise, constant and a little amused by the reactivity of others.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). For some, empathy comes naturally. Others have to work at it. Then there's you, who must work in the opposite direction, building boundaries that help you realize the difference between other people's feelings and your own. Your empathic nature will be a blessing this week, as long as you take good care of yourself.
THIS WEEK'S BIRTHDAYS: Legacies are not built in a few years but rather in decades. You'll be looking ahead and aligning your actions with a longer trajectory. This is what maturity has taught you, and you'll be rewarded right off the bat with a financial bonus you can sock away. The incredible resourcefulness you show in October will be noticed by key important people. A special relationship ignites your creativity. There's a meaningful purchase or business that begins at the start of 2021.
