Dear Larry: I am a fan of Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show" for its humor and satire, but something Stewart featured this past week left me far from laughing. It's the "stop snitching" campaign that's going on in the hip-hop industry.

Basically rappers are telling people that it's not cool to "snitch" on their friends, family or neighbors if they commit crimes. Stewart showed footage of rappers telling people to "stop snitching" along with a young black boy saying the same thing in imitation of his "heroes."

That clip was followed by an interview of a hip-hop star on "60 Minutes" in which he was asked, "If you had a serial killer next door, would you turn him in?" The rapper replied, "No, I wouldn't." He reeked of indifference and contempt.

I am shocked. No, I am disgusted and outraged.

We are now living in a culture where the victims of certain violent crimes are shamed into silence? We only have a 2 percent conviction rate for rapes. I believe these rap people are aiming for a perfect zero.

Larry, things like this are enough to make me wonder if our world has finally gone insane and we're going to see the four horsemen come riding over the horizon. I have two disabled children and worry enough about their futures without this kind of garbage being encouraged.

Dear PS: You are most welcome. Thank you for your letter. I too am outraged with the brainless rap artists that are allowed to spew their garbage without some kind of challenge.

Let's hope this issue receives some of the attention that was directed toward Don Imus.

Dear Larry: I have some rather strong feelings regarding Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. I feel that these two both represent some of the worst of our society.

I have yet to see either of these two do anything other than advance their own personal positions in life. To call them hypocrites sometimes appears to be too generous.

It is unfortunate that they are not in it to truly better things for those they claim to represent. — Kerry

Dear Kerry: It is tiring to see them flip-flop on issues, make racist statements and get away with things any other American would be called on the carpet for. With that said, I believe a growing number of people in our society are beginning to see the light regarding these self-serving, so-called leaders of black America.

The more we defy the PC cowards and speak out, the sooner all Americans will be held to the same standard of behavior.
