Marquardt (405-35)

December 8, 2008 3 min read

The Marquardt (405-35), with all three bedrooms on the second floor, is perfect for the young family. The well-proportioned 1,737 square feet of living space offers many angles as well as a unique openness. The home has ideal dimensions for a smaller lot, where space is essential.

This two-story home has many amenities, such as a large rear deck and an enormous two-car garage with a shop area. As part of the garage, the utility room is situated to provide a large space that does not take away from the actual living space.

The L-shaped kitchen of the Marquardt is open and features a centrally located eating bar. A breakfast nook faces the deck and there are sliding doors leading outside. A corner pantry is incorporated beneath the stairs leading to the top floor. The dining room also has sliding doors to the deck, along with a huge window.

The living room is set apart, ideal for entertaining, or for quiet evenings. There is a fireplace on the rear wall surrounded by windows, including a bay window. The entry area has a closet and a half-bath.

As you ascend the stairs, there is a storage closet halfway up. Once you reach the second floor, there are two bedrooms to the left with walk-in closets. The larger of the two has a dormer window that would be perfect spot for a desk or computer.

The full bathroom is located next to the master suite at the head of the stairs. A large window lights the master suite. The placement of the large walk-in closet and full master bath provides a sound barrier from the rest of the home. The main portion of the suite extends above the dining/kitchen area.

This functional home provides a contemporary look with little wasted space. Ideal for a starter home, it is medium-sized and designed to use space to best potential.
