In the 1730s, Lord Baltimore agreed that Maryland's northern border should be 15 miles south of South Street in Philadelphia. This seemed to mean that Maryland had a claim to south Philly, except that it turned out that all of Maryland's surveyed borders were wrong. Maryland has another odd bit of border: a mile of Maryland, around Hancock in Washington County, separates Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
