We can call it the American Libel." For the first time, the story goes, more whites than ever are coming to realize how racist America is, how racist cops are and how systemically racist everything in America is. Only now do many Americans understand just how racist Uncle Ben, Aunt Jemima, Ulysses Grant, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, "whitening" agents, meritocracy, Western culture, Christianity, jailing Blacks and the NFL are. The bestselling book in America is about alleged "white fragility" — the term for any rational response to the irrational charge that all whites are racist.

All this is supposed to be good for America's Blacks.
Updated: Tue Jun 30, 2020
6ffa3d94068a49b2b5395ac3e85d1378 America's Jews and Christians Are Failing the Test of Their Lives for 06/23/2020 Tue, 23 Jun 2020 00:00:00 -0700

If you are a Jew or Christian in America, the seriousness of your Judaism or Christianity is now being tested.

People look back in time and wonder how religious people, especially religious leaders — specifically, the clergy — could have failed in times of moral crisis. The failure of most rabbis, priests and pastors to speak out today — when the risk to personal safety is so much less than it was in communist and fascist countries — should provide the answer: Religion doesn't have all that much impact on most religious people. During comfortable times, it provides two essentials to a happy and fulfilled life — community and meaning — but when tested, it often fails like an umbrella that fails to expand just as it starts to rain.
Updated: Tue Jun 23, 2020
00fe0ba22069a67cb8e8d95e9b39ceb1 Will Jewish and Christian Schools Teach the Truth About America and Racism? for 06/16/2020 Tue, 16 Jun 2020 00:00:00 -0700
"Do not follow the majority to do evil." — Exodus 23:2.

When I went to yeshiva day schools, America was celebrated. Why did my yeshiva in Brooklyn put on plays honoring George Washington? Why did my Orthodox Jewish day school utilize texts not only celebrating America but affirming America as a "melting pot"? Why did a Jew, Irving Berlin, write "God bless America"?
Updated: Tue Jun 16, 2020
7efadf307c28d40e1eb6d50d7f92802a The Four Horsemen of America's Apocalypse for 06/09/2020 Tue, 09 Jun 2020 00:00:00 -0700
It takes a lot to build a civilization, and though it is much easier to destroy a civilization, it takes a lot to do that, too.

But now we have four roots of evil that are guaranteed to do so.

No. 1: Victimhood.
Updated: Tue Jun 09, 2020
023702c37026679ae8d0ab105c96e9e6 The Left Couldn't Care Less About Blacks for 06/02/2020 Tue, 02 Jun 2020 00:00:00 -0700

Virtually every conservative in America knows the title of this column is true. Virtually every leftist knows it, too, but lying for the cause is what the left does (think "Russian collusion"). And those liberals who have become increasingly indistinguishable from leftists know it's probably true but won't say so — lest they side with conservatives and, more importantly, be branded "racist" by the left. How the left brands a person now determines many people's moral and political positions.

If the left cared about blacks, leftists would work to raise blacks to universal academic standards, not lower and abolish standards as they have done for decades, most recently in abolishing the SAT exam at the University of California.
Updated: Tue Jun 02, 2020
d420d46ffcc177bf3ee077c23d896b4c The Lockdown, Evangelicals and the Afterlife: A Response to Steven Pinker for 05/26/2020 Tue, 26 May 2020 00:00:00 -0700
Harvard professor of psychology Steven Pinker tweeted last week:

"Belief in an afterlife is a malignant delusion, since it devalues actual lives and discourages action that would make them longer, safer, and happier. He is one of the few professors in America to call out the left's destruction of our universities. Most human beings lack courage, but no group is more cowardly than academics. This has been true for 100 years. From the German universities to today, professors have almost never taken a position that required courage. Indeed, one might say that when you send your child to college, your child is taught to be a coward by the cowardly.
Updated: Tue May 26, 2020
e8c89a151feec74fbd15822eb149832f Some Thoughts About Being Safe for 05/19/2020 Tue, 19 May 2020 00:00:00 -0700
In a recent "Fireside Chat," my weekly talk show on the PragerU platform, I commented on society's increasing fixation on being "safe." Timothy Egan of The New York Times described Republicans who wish to enable their states to open up as "the party of death."

That's the way it is today on planet Earth, where deceit, cowardice and immaturity now dominate almost all societies because the elites are deceitful, cowardly and immature.

But for those open to reading thoughts they may differ with, here is the case for why the worldwide lockdown is not only a mistake but also, possibly, the worst mistake the world has ever made. And for those intellectually challenged by the English language and/or logic, "mistake" and "evil" are not synonyms. The lockdown is a mistake; the Holocaust, slavery, communism, fascism, etc., were evils. Massive mistakes are made by arrogant fools; massive evils are committed by evil people.
Updated: Tue May 05, 2020
91cf9ffaa77079e8fc6c183209bed17b Our Dress Rehearsal for a Police State for 04/28/2020 Tue, 28 Apr 2020 00:00:00 -0700

All my life, I have dismissed paranoids on the right ("America is headed to communism") and the left ("It can happen here" — referring to fascism). After all, COVID-19 doesn't distinguish between left and right: Conservatives and liberals are just as likely to contract and even die from it.

Yet, it's amazing how consistently left and right differ on even this issue.

Virtually every opinion piece in The New York Times, The Washington Post and every other mainstream, i.e., left-wing, journal share two characteristics: a sense of foreboding (millions will die) and an unshakeable conviction that to prevent mass death, the world's economy must be shut down.
Updated: Tue Mar 31, 2020
8ffdbdb273277f3e6273b73dcbc42e2e Suggestions for This Difficult Time for 03/24/2020 Tue, 24 Mar 2020 00:00:00 -0700
Since we are all stuck at home for weeks, here are some suggestions to help you and help America.

Watch less news. Interview and opinion shows on TV and talk radio shows that add to one's understanding of the situation can be valuable. But watching depressing, panic-inducing news about COVID-19 24/7 will only make you jittery, anxious and depressed. It's good for the news networks' ratings, but it's bad for your mental health.

Instead, you can read, talk to friends, watch movies, learn a language, listen to music, start a journal, walk outside, garden or engage in hobbies. Do that project you've never had time to get to. In short, don't preoccupy yourself with the virus. My wife and I watched a James Bond movie a few nights ago, and I loved the total escape it provided.
