Since my wife religiously cleans the lint filter every time she uses the clothes dryer, I never considered that we would have a problem. After reading those columns, I tried to assure myself that everything was OK, but I was still uncomfortable and decided to disconnect the dryer and check it out, just to be safe.
Updated: Sun Jan 19, 2020
5f702c7913eaf1117519b521ea5d1c77 Classic Ann Landers for 01/12/2020 https://www.creators.com/read/classic-ann-landers/01/20/classic-ann-landers-de605 Sun, 12 Jan 2020 00:00:00 -0800

Editor's Note: Hundreds of Ann Landers' loyal readers have requested that newspapers continue to publish her columns. This man owns a salon and barbershop supply business, which he bought in 1983. He recently received a notice saying he owes a property tax bill of $1,151 that goes back to 1911, before this man was even born. It seems the debt had gone undetected, even though the property had changed hands several times.
Updated: Sun Dec 15, 2019
2ff4e6e69447e7c10075859092578dfd Classic Ann Landers for 12/08/2019 https://www.creators.com/read/classic-ann-landers/12/19/classic-ann-landers-2de4f Sun, 08 Dec 2019 00:00:00 -0800
Editor's Note: Hundreds of Ann Landers' loyal readers have requested that newspapers continue to publish her columns. When "Bob" bought a home last May, he asked me to move in with him. I knew his mother would be moving in, too, but I thought it would be temporary.

Well, it's been eight months, and she is still here. I cook, clean and do laundry, but she does everything over again, saying I didn't do a good job. She has peculiar eating habits, which makes it difficult for me to prepare a tasty meal that everyone can enjoy. When I try to cook something she can eat, she claims my cooking "doesn't taste right" and adds other ingredients or dilutes it with water. She also tells me I shouldn't use a mop on the floor because "it's not clean unless you get down on your hands and knees and scrub."
Updated: Sun Dec 08, 2019
b5b0a0ae1b8ab4bab4ae9a5a59c71451 Classic Ann Landers for 12/01/2019 https://www.creators.com/read/classic-ann-landers/11/19/classic-ann-landers-dc263 Sun, 01 Dec 2019 00:00:00 -0800
Editor's Note: Hundreds of Ann Landers' loyal readers have requested that newspapers continue to publish her columns. The woman wanted to know why her doctors failed to mention this to her. I am a physician who has been in practice for several years, and I would like to respond to her question.

Long ago, I learned that if a physician wants to drive a patient out of his (or her) office permanently, there are two magic sentences that will do it. One is: "I think you should see a psychiatrist." The other is: "You need to lose some weight." I have a file in my office with notes from fat former patients (and their fat relatives) cussing me out royally because I had the unmitigated gall to broach the subject of dropping some pounds.
Updated: Sun Dec 01, 2019
ba601820a3db3e928bd267b2f99afbd0 Classic Ann Landers for 11/24/2019 https://www.creators.com/read/classic-ann-landers/11/19/classic-ann-landers-d26b0 Sun, 24 Nov 2019 00:00:00 -0800

Editor's Note: Hundreds of Ann Landers' loyal readers have requested that newspapers continue to publish her columns. Actually, it was Dale Carnegie who said that. You added that your former husband, an accomplished salesman, found that using the customer's first name was a good sales ploy. Please be aware, Ann, this practice is not acceptable worldwide.
Updated: Sun Nov 24, 2019
4ed7f55547edb99d9b3bd31787aa4e59 Classic Ann Landers for 11/17/2019 https://www.creators.com/read/classic-ann-landers/11/19/classic-ann-landers-4695d Sun, 17 Nov 2019 00:00:00 -0800

Editor's Note: Hundreds of Ann Landers' loyal readers have requested that newspapers continue to publish her columns. I knew he had used marijuana on occasion, but I'm sure he never tried to sell it. A lawyer told me if someone is caught with marijuana, chances are, the police will add "intent to distribute" even in the absence of supporting evidence. The accusation of intent changes the crime from a misdemeanor to a felony.
Updated: Sun Nov 17, 2019
f848002538a24a38f71f16ef8bbce6b7 Classic Ann Landers for 11/10/2019 https://www.creators.com/read/classic-ann-landers/11/19/classic-ann-landers-c34ec Sun, 10 Nov 2019 00:00:00 -0800

Editor's Note: Hundreds of Ann Landers' loyal readers have requested that newspapers continue to publish her columns. "Dog Lover" was amazed that her friends had shelled out $750 to put their dogs in doggie camps. My mother told me at the time that both my sister and my brother wanted to donate a kidney so that I might live. As the months of dialysis wore on, I decided to accept their generous offer. When I expressed my gratitude, they both told me they had no idea where I had gotten such an idea. It was then obvious that my mother had invented the story. My sister subsequently wrote me a letter saying my life was not that important to her. I had always been close to my sister. That letter destroyed the love I felt for her. I then cut off all communication.
