Star Parker is a weekly columnist with readership up to 8 million a week. She is the founder and president of CURE, the Center for Urban Renewal and Education, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit think tank that promotes market-based public policy to fight poverty. 

Before her involvement in social activism, Parker had seven years of first-hand experience in the grip of welfare dependency. After a Christian conversion, she changed her life, and today she is a highly sought-after commentator on national news networks for her expertise on social policy reform.
