For 7-year-old Shrimp Dubose, the chaos of ubiquitous internet culture seems like it’s always intruding on her pursuit of spiritual enlightenment through fishing. The most common agent of that annoyance is her reluctantly adopted pet, a Facebook-addicted alligator named Grits.

“Shrimp and Grits” is a little home cooking for high speed times. It’s an invitation to laugh, relax and a reminder that much like life in Pensaloco, Florida, we’re all a little weird and wonderful. We just have to put down the phone long enough to look around and appreciate it.
