Obama's “Constitution” and Advice for Komen

Dear Mark: I know you receive a lot of e-mails furious with the Obama administration, but I think I'm the maddest. Obamacare was supposed to be the savior of medicine but is blatantly infringing on our religious freedom by forcing Catholic universities, hospitals and assorted other businesses to provide employees with access to free contraception. This is in direct conflict with Catholic doctrine, not to mention the First Amendment, and I'm not even Catholic. Could this simply be an oversight by the administration? — Christian in Corpus Christi

Dear Christian: This is what happens when you have to vote for legislation before you actually see what's in it and you've got a liberal ideologue in the White House leading the charge. I can only imagine the other surprises Kathleen Sebelius and her fellow Health and Human Services clowns have in store for us.

This isn't just a Catholic problem; this is an Obama assault on all of Christianity and the Constitution. I don't believe this was an oversight by the administration as much as it was a miscalculation of the public backlash. Obama has been caught with his political pants down ... but not in the Bill Clinton sense.

Obama would never sign a law forcing Hindu children to eat meat in school cafeterias or outlaw the hijab (head scarf) for Muslim women. Don't forget our government has bent over backward to accommodate the Islamic requirements of Muslims held in Guantanamo Bay. Meanwhile, this section of Obamacare violates one of the founding principles of our country, and all the president's people can do is look for a compromise. Compromise the First Amendment? Are you kidding me??? On top of all that, I can't seem to find "free contraception" anywhere in the Constitution.

I don't want to say I told you so, but we tried to warn you about President Obama's militant liberalism back in 2008.

OK, I do want to say I told you so.

Dear Mark: The controversy over the Susan G. Komen Foundation support of Planned Parenthood is perplexing. The money Komen gives to Planned Parenthood is spent on breast cancer screenings for women who might not otherwise be able to afford those important exams. That seems to be a very admirable use of the charities funds; yet people are up in arms over this. Breast cancer is a horrible disease, and we should do everything possible so why the political uproar? — Nancy, New Orleans

Dear New Orleans: Planned Parenthood is one of the most controversial and secretive organizations — or, to be more accurate, businesses in our country. The uproar comes from the fact that liberals, the media and Planned Parenthood itself paint the business as some warm, fuzzy nonprofit organization humbly concerned with women's health issues, while 38 percent of its revenue comes from the 300,000-500,000 abortions it performs annually.

In addition, the organization receives millions of taxpayer dollars each year claiming that the federal money doesn't go for abortions but is only used for other women's health services. HA! That's like pouring a bucket of water into a half full bathtub and then trying to separate your water from mine. Federal dollars are still supporting a business that kills hundreds of thousands of unborn children each year.

Since Komen caved to pressure from the left, my advice to the organization is to continue funding Planned Parenthood with gusto because in the twisted world of liberals, an aborted child will never develop breast cancer.
