Benghazi, a Correction and Nancy Pelosi Drive

Comment

Dear Mark: The Benghazi scandal is quickly becoming a major blemish on the Obama administration, especially with some of the revelations this week during hearings in the House of Representatives.

It seems to me that Democrats should have learned from Watergate that the cover-up is worse than the actual event. President Obama seems bulletproof, so why is the administration having so much trouble coming out with the truth? — Mississippi Mama

Dear Mississippi: While the mainstream media is focused on Kim Kardashian's pregnancy, many thanks go out to Fox News, bloggers and various columnists, along with some principled Republican House members, for keeping the heat on the administration.

President Obama may be bulletproof, but then who couldn't take those media softballs? The problem isn't for President Obama but for President Wannabe Hillary Clinton, who is not nearly as bulletproof and who is smack dab in the middle of this firestorm — hence the intimidation and deception from the State Department.

It's disturbing that President Obama is staying as far away from the Benghazi controversy as possible, while the mainstream press allows him that luxury.

The president rightfully had these strong words concerning the increase in sexual assaults in the military: "I want them (the victims) to hear directly from their commander in chief that I've got their backs. I will support them. And we're not going to tolerate this stuff, and there will be accountability. If people have engaged in this behavior, they should be prosecuted."

Wouldn't it be refreshing for the president to have this same "commander in chief" moxie concerning the Benghazi scandal and the whistleblowers who are exposing the mistakes that resulted in murders of four Americans by terrorists?

Dear Mark: Last week, you essentially implied that Amtrak and the Postal Service were created by liberals, and I would like to see a correction.

Amtrak was created under the Nixon administration, thus it was hardly the work of "Liberalism 101." More stupefyingly ignorant of you is including the U.S. Postal Service in that dubious list. The USPS is specifically authorized by that bastion of liberalism known as the Constitution. It was reorganized in its present form by the Nixon administration.

You have engaged in the time worn strategy of the GOP that if you repeat bullsh—- long and loud enough people will eventually accept it as true. Friend, you need to grow a pair so you can humbly admit when you're wrong. Trust me, it will be OK. It will also dramatically improve your ability to communicate without making sh— up as you go. Whether you have the guts or the integrity to do so, I guess I'll find out. — The Board Man

Dear Board Man: My point was not who actually created the programs. It is that liberals embrace government programs no matter how poorly they're run or how much money is wasted. Success according to libs appears to be solely based on the intent, as opposed to the actual results. If I left that impression concerning the Post Office and Amtrak, I apologize and stand corrected.

Speaking of growing a pair, try slapping your name and face on an opinion column week in and week out. My guts and integrity remain intact.

Dear Mark: Matt Drudge reported that there was an incident of indecent exposure reported on Nancy Pelosi Drive in San Francisco. I'm not too concerned about the actual crime, but how in the world is there a street named after that scrawny excuse for a leader? — Red State Louie

Dear Louie: It is San Francisco after all, but considering what Minority Leader Pelosi has done to America, the location of this crime just seems redundant.

In regards to the second letter, boy was that sure nasty. People who use such foul language and insults not only demonstrate their personal lack of inteligance and morals, but those of the group they represent. I think this column is great and I agree with 90% of what Mark has to say. And even if I don't agree, I can at least see where he is coming from. In regards to the post office thing, its not that they do a bad job, its that they are being screwed by the government. They are forced to pre-fund their retirement 75 years in advance. If not for this ridiculous requirement, the post office would be running in the black.
