Obama's Goal? Directed Chaos

Share Comment

When we think of the word "chaos," normally we associate it with spontaneous acts of malcontents rebelling without a cause. But most of the chaos in the world today is what I call "directed chaos" — usually government-directed and with one single-minded purpose: the consolidation of power.

That's the way I interpret the so-called "economic stimulus" legislation approved by the Democrat-controlled Congress and signed by President Obama. There is no way it will stimulate the economy. It will have the opposite effect — lengthening and deepening the economic crisis in which America finds itself.

Does anyone truly believe we're in this mess because the U.S. government didn't spend enough recently? Of course not. Congress and President Bush spent money like drunken sailors. They caused this calamity because of their irresponsibility and their disregard for the Constitution. Can the cure be possibly more of the same? I don't think so. But take a look at how the money will be spent, for evidence of the "cure" is actually worse than the disease.

Of the $800 billion in the so-called "stimulus" bill, only $90 billion will actually go toward things like building highways, upgrading the electrical power grid or meaningful business tax cuts. Far more, however, will be used to revive welfare as we used to know it. Some $264 billion will be directed to encouraging states to sign up more people on welfare.

But it gets worse. This welfare is worse than the old one that everyone — Democrats and Republicans alike — agreed to dismantle in the 1990s.

It's called the "Make Work Pay" program, and it includes $23 billion per year to provide up to $500 cash to low-income adults who pay no taxes. The program will mark the first time the federal government will hand out significant cash to able-bodied adults without dependent children!

Does that make sense to you? Probably not.

But it has been thought out.

I want you to know that. This program, along with the whole of the so-called "stimulus" bill, has been considered carefully. No member of Congress may have read the bill, but it was written by someone. The programs it creates have been in the works for years.

Money is being handed out to people who helped get Obama and the Democrats elected. Groups like ACORN, the shock troops and brown shirts of their movement, are being paid off with billions of dollars.

It has all been planned. And the goal is not to help the economy. The goal is to achieve chaos, which leads to more government control — and that's what Obama and the Democratic Congress want more than anything.

They don't believe they should be bothered with elections or dissent or any of the nuisances of a free society. They believe they deserve perpetual power, since they are part of the enlightened elite. They know socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried. But they also believe they can do better. They can make it work because they are smarter than the guys who have bungled it in the past.

In the meantime, prepare for chaos. Prepare for harder times than you have seen in your lifetime. Prepare for more debt. Prepare for more redistribution of wealth, more unfairness and inequity. Prepare for one bailout after another.

Prepare for more "emergency" legislation like the so-called "stimulus" bill. Prepare for unilateral executive action through presidential decision directives. Prepare for attacks on the free press and free speech.

This is where we are inevitably going with the "change" promises by Obama. You're going to get change all right.

The government will show you how bad it can get, so you will accept its most draconian solutions. You haven't seen anything yet.

Sir;...How on earth could the presidency consolidate power anymore than it has without it being a complete dictorship??? I will grant that now that Mr. Obama has taken office he has sent every signal that he will maintain the imperial presidency, and its powers, intact.... It is not in the nature of men to give up power... Power is like the hand of Midas... The very touch of it transforms them... But look at the congress... It is a herd of milch cows... They too are corrupt, but powerless, hostages of their political parties and their ideologies... The house should make up for lack of individual power with numbers... It should be an army of the people able to execute a revolution at a moments notice... They long ago traded their united power to represent their own solid districts to be a miniture senate, representing only division, as useless and corrupt as any senate.... All are the prisoners of ideology, and the Supreme Court is trapped as badly as any... All are incapable of action, or change, or growth... That leaves only the executive as the only functioning branch of government....Surely, the president is supposed to execute the will of the congress and of the people...The people cannot get through to the congress because congress is bought in the very process of getting elected...So we have a monarchy, and we will have to suffer our idiot kings with our war monger kings as a curse of cruel fate.....Just because the government is impossible to change by amendment does not mean the form cannot evolve on its own under the force of personalities, or against the lack of personalities....What has been missing for a long time, and is responsible for our present troubles, is democracy.... Our most responsive body has been denied to us... We cannot get through to the house, and must sweep them aside.... And yet, as a great number in a big country, we will never be able to avoid a strong executive... But we should be able to break that office off from the commander in chief... And we should be able to elect the cabinate... There is much we could do if we had a democracy, and nothing we can do until we have democracy... So democracy is the great priority... Thanks...Sweeney

This one article contains more truth and common sense than you will find in years of the mainstream media. I have been searching for what to call what I have sensed going on with Obama's policies and Directed Chaos is a perfect fit.
Instead of letting the markets find a bottom quickly the Bush/Obama economic plans are to meddle in the process for the foreseeable future so as to create a chaotic environment where the bottom/end cannot and will not be known. Moreover they are making the future far more uncertain by creating uncertain and shifting rules, and all of this will be paid for by future generations. Why would anyone invest when the future is so uncertain and profits will be punished or purchase a home now when they know the natural prices are headed down? The government caused the housing bubble and they seem insistent on keeping the bubble inflated. Now that we have constant chaos, we hear constant complaining about what some executive did with taxpayer money. This creates an environment where we constantly hear how bad things are. I suppose it suits the interests of the liberals in charge to reinforce this negative image of corporations. However it doesn't anger me; what angers me is that congress got involved in this matter in the first place. If they really care and want some executive to get his just reward they should have let his company go bankrupt, which would have made him unemployed and his stock worth zero. That would have been perfectly fair. Furthermore, we would have found the bottom of that stock/company and could move on from there. This noise of what they are doing with taxpayer money missing the point entirely and creates an environment of continual directed chaos. It shows that congress does not care about what is just and fair what they care about is being in charge/control.
I agree we haven't seen anything yet. There is no silver lining to be found with the economic path we are on only pain and suffering for millions for the foreseeable future. I fear that we are witnessing the beginning of the end of America with respect to morality and economic strength.
