Super-sized Snafu

Share Comment

You book a flight on an airline, and you know there's a chance the flight will be overbooked. You go to a hot movie such as "True Grit," and you know you'd better get there early.

But the Super Bowl?

How on Earth did the National Football League end up stiffing 400 ticketed fans, who were forced to watch the entire game on television? Is Jerry Jones Bowl that not ready for prime time?

Yes, we realize they got to go on the field after the game. And that the NFL has offered the fans, including some Packers backers, tickets to next year's Super Bowl and other compensation.

But that's not enough — not when fans had to fly to Dallas, put themselves up in hotels and pay for their meals.

In years to come, this may make a great story to tell their grandkids, but it was a super-sized snafu for the fans Sunday, one that demands a super-sized fix. There were lawyers in the group, we're told, so we can assume that this is headed to court.

The NFL should ante up now. At least throw in a couple of Aaron Rodgers' autographed jerseys.
